You can either repair it with replacement bushings or purchase new LCA with the bushings factory installed.

If you go the bushing only route you'll need a Klann Spring compressor, heavy duty shop press (25 ton usually) and some special fittings to press new and old out.

They need to be done in pairs just like brakes or rotors.

I'm having the dealer replace tomorrow. Not cheap but this is way past anything I can do myself.

I let a Indy mech I know do mine as I don't like working with springs and didn't have those tools anyway. The cost of bushings and shop labor vs new LCA's/labor was ~$150 less so together we decided that because the LCA's were in good shape that bushings only was the way to go.

He WONT make that choice on the next Mercedes needing bushings that comes calling.....was not a fun job for him. It cost about $600 IIRC.

The 4-Matic would be different.

Well, thanks a lot fellas..... whew.... There are a lot of works to do then.....

However, since repairing it seems more complicated, I'll just replace it with a new one.... Let the dealer mechs do it... haha. =p

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Find

an indie that will install your supplied units with the bushings pre installed from www.autohausaz.com
you can always find mb mechanics working on the side from the dealer in their own shops.
the dealer is going to rake you over the coals.

Question

I've brought my car to the dealer for a general check and they suggest me to replace the part with a new one.....

According to the cost estimation, they're gonna cost me around IDR 1,500,000.00 or around USD 150.00 for a brand new part....

Is it worth enough? Or should I find an alternate shop instead of giving my car to be handled by the dealer????

Thanks fellas for your replies.........

if car drives fine than don't worry about changing the lca bushings yet. does the front end feel loose? do you have any kind of vibration? if not then don't change anything yet. the dealer will tell you to change a lot of things that are perfectly fine for a long time, they have to make their living somehow.

also if you are not comfortable with paying that much money to the dealer, then find an indie in your area.

Well yeah, Mr.Tirona.... Vibrations occur everytime I drive above 100 km/h and the car feels like 'flying'/unstable on the road. I wonder why the steering wheel vibrates too.....

Here is the list of parts that the dealer suggests me to replace :
1. Control arm bushings (there are some cracks on them)
2. Steering angle sensor (doesn't work correctly, causing the 'triangle' notification to appear)
3. Rear Brake Pads

Sometimes the ESP, EBD, & ABS notifications appear.... They disappear after I restart the engine.

Any ideas????? Whew..........
