Anyone remove the last two convertors

Anyone remove the last two convertors

Hello,
Anyone replace the last two convertors with two straight pipes? Any pros or cons to do this? Other than never having to replace them again

I heard that if the car still passes the state inspection, go for it! If not, you can always get plates from a state not requiring an annual emission inspection, such as oklahoma, get a PO Box there!

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
You won't

gain anything. You will be louder but with a motor boat sound if you like to sound like a boat. And you may fail smog. If you do it at least install a cross over pipe H-pipe and that will mellow out the exhaust note and pick up a few ft lbs of torque down low.

Unless you are an exhaust emissions specialist I would leave it alone. They are there for a reason and that is to help clean up the air we all breathe. Your ULEV rating is dependent on all four converters being there and operational. Do not screw with something that is important to all of us.

I took off the resonators and the cats. All that is left is the 2 pre-cats and my muffler.

No, you shouldnt have any problems with the cel because the sensor is before the rear cats. As for the sound, its ok. It takes some getting used to your car sounding like a mustang. I have an aftermarket exhaust so it doesnt sound to bad.
I had a guy in a lincoln ls follow me until I got off the highway to ask what kind of exhaust I had, after I flew by him.
Probably in the future Ill put a high flow cat on there and a different muffler though.

And, I'll bet you'll pass smog too as long as they don't do a visual inspection. I think the two cats are a "belt and suspenders" system. If the rear cat was really necessary, there would be a sensor downstream from it.
