Question Magnaflow Anyone ??

I deleted the resonator on my car a while back and like the new more open sound. I am now contemplating swapping the stock muffler for a Magnaflow. I did multiple searches on our forum and found this great thread :

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...ics-video.html

Considering my car has the dual inlet vs. the 99 CLK430 depicted in the thread above, the same model will not work for me. I wanted to find out if anyone has tried a specific Magnaflow exhaust on our W210's. From what I have read thus far, I will need to put the resonator back on to avoid the drone on the freeway.

Welcome any thoughts or opinions from folks who have used Magnaflow exhausts on the W210 or familiar with the sound of Magnaflow exhausts.

Cheers

when u removed the resonator on your car did it make it really loud?I have a 99w210
V-6 and want it to be a little loud but not like a rice rocket i want a nice sound.I was thinking of removing the resonator and the cats cuz the cats need to be replaced. You should check bosol exhust or flow master for a nice muffler tip

I HAVE A 2002 E430,REPLACE THE MUFFLER WITH MAGAFLOW (DUAL INLET AND DUAL OUT LET AND I ADD THE CHROME TIPS),SOUNDS REALLY GOOD,EVEN MY WIFE LIKE IT,THEN LAST WEEK I REMOVE THE RESONATOR AND REPLACE IT WITH X PIPE,IT REALLY WAKE UP THE CAR,SOUNDS BETTER(A LITTLE LOUD)BUT I GOT USED TO IT,ALSO FEELS ALOT STRONGER,ALMOST A DIFFERENT CAR,AND ALSO REMOVE SOME WEIGHT OF THE CAR.I THINK YOU WILL LIKE THE MUFFLER.

P.S. DO NOT DO THE DUAL OUTLET,EVEN TNE W210 E55 DOESNT HAVE ONE,AND MAKE SURE YOU FIND A GOOD MUFFLER SHOP.

How do you guys pass emissions w/o the cats in place? Removing the secondary cats destroys the ULEV rating on the motor for emissions. Just really curious as to how you get by the emissions issue. Also there is no gain HP wise in removing the resonator. It is fairly straight through flow wise anyway...
