Faster Throttle response?!?
How can we all W210 guys (1996-1999) can eliminate the delay from the throttle response?
I searched for the Sprint Booster for my car E420 1997 but the SB company only offers from 2000+!
What can i do?

agree ! me too!
you talking about the
http://www.sprintboostersales.com/ ??
lets, find a workaround !
when I got the car (W210 E300TD) , my wife took it for a ride,
and almost toasted it, because it was not moving from a stop,...
of course she drives a standard (5 spd manual).
so there is a problem across the board.
what I did so far:
- fuel filter
- fuel booster
- reset thing, 5sec, throttle, suppose to reset the transmission shift learn,
- MAF, clean
- stomped it a couple times, put in 3 and floor it a couple times
- fuel, diesel flush
- air filter
a little better, still not confident, from a stop, that it will move
what's next:
- want a chip, just for this stupid delay ( mostly for MPG)
- EGR and intake is probably gunked up
- I want my 6 speed manual transmission back , woooo hooo!
in europe, you can get a benz with manual ,....argh....
nothing beats a clutch, in terms of response, and in torque,
also cheaper to replace
ideas:
- to put it in N neutral , at stop, and D, push throttle harder at go ?
- there got to be something simple to remedy this ?!!
- increase the idle by 200 rpm or more, I mean, mostly we are driving , yeah?
0.5 sec wait, ok, maybe , can live with,
1-2 sec, on rotary or busy traffic, could be your last one, bye , bye,...
really don't need the thrill, of nothing happen first, getting scared,
floor it now, and then cut traffic with smoking tires ?
definitely not my preferred driving style, makes me look and feel like big Ixxxt
oh, like to try with the ASR off, but that bright light is a annoying.
anybody have some tips, tricks, ideas, for the up to 1999 rides ? pre 2000

I will check that RON93 configuration.
My brother in law works in a MB dealership, i set up my ECU to after 2500 rpm - 3000 rpm the ecu inyects more fuel and it seems that is working well, i can feel the difference in higher rpms.
Maybe there is a ECU setup that eliminate this awful delay. I just changed the entire suspension setup and the car is stiffer and i can go faster in the curves but the throttle delay takes all the sportiness that i can feel driving my car. Its a shame!

Try outting some White Spirit in your petrol, i heard that could help. Make sure you got some meat with you thou, that way you can make bbq at the same time, using nothing but your hood and the fire coming out of your exhaust. ;0
My guess is you need to improeve your gas/air mixure, that way your computer zill be reading the correct numbers from the sensors.

Petrol engines aren't the same as diesel engines
Sparkplugs, tuning airfilter, reset ecu will help but not for long
or
Go to a tuning saloon and let them reprogram/rewrite your ECU - will cost you around 300 bucks. Maybe they'll have to improeve it with more memmory. That will set you back with about 500 bucks. that way the stock ecu interface will not be as rigged anymore. This will give you a faster throtle responce for sure. I think that would solve your problem if you would do it properly

I think the reaction is getting better with the OEM MB Software Stage II that the MB Dealership upload.
The MB dealership told me that they can configure it up to STAGE IV, but it will be too much for the ordinary driving so thats it for me.
