Engine Mounts 98 E300

Found countless info on changing the mounts for this car but no specifics as to which mounts to use. (IE OEM or aftermarket)
I have no idea what the OEM cost vs aftermarket cost and quality.

I did come across this:
http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro.../Motor%20Mount

Any help or further information would be appreciated.

is about as good a price for the correct mounts as you will find.
diy on www.benzworld.org w210 diy section
Are yours collapsed or leaking?
You might want to do the trans mount while down there.

The Lemfoerder mounts from autohausaz are the exact same mounts as the ones from the dealer. They even have the correct MB Part No. engraved on the side.

I paid about $64 ea. versus about $110 at the dealer. Just pick the right ones based on the description and the last 6 digits of the VIN for your W210.

Your VIN is located on a plate on the dash near the drivers side. It's also on your registration and title. The chassis number is the last 6 digits.

Of the three listed it's likely to be the first one.

Just noticed

you have a diesel.
No confusion on that mount only left and right listed 75 bucks each. www.autohausaz.com 1998 E300D
Diy for diesel mount r/r is even easier
and a great write up on the diy section located in the resource section

also follow the link that directs you towards more tips on easier ways to get stuff loose.

End of VIN# starts with A536. So going by the parts listed in the link from my first post I would say the center one is the correct part. Someone back me up or correct me me if needed and I'll go ahead with my order.

BTW is the tranny mount as prone to wear as the engine mounts being as how ohlord suggested I change it as well or should I inspect it and change if needed?

Sorry, I was guessing based on the model year "before 6/99" mentioned.

Some people change the rear mount when doing the motor mounts. I don't think it wears out as easily but, hey, if you are under there and your hands are already dirty...

If you are doing it yourself, disconnect the fan shroud and drape it over the fan when lifting the engine. Most of us DIY'ers raise engine with a jack and a piece of wood. But that's on the M112. No sure if there are any issues on the diesel engine with that approach. Let us know if the need torque values for mounting bolts.
