I have a set of ribbons and instructions I ordered from Europe for the E class and also works for C class.I paid 32 euros,I let it go for $30.00 tyd.
I fixed mine,this set was for my brothers car but he sold it.
Easy to do and works fine.

C class uses three ribbons,I have only two,one for the temp. and one for time and you need one more for the mileage.

 

I ordered mine from http://pixelfix.net/eng/index.html I think it took about 10 days to get them. I got two ribbons, but only needed the one for the time and gear display.
It's a bit annoying to replace the ribbons, but I thought it was more annoying to have half the pixels missing.
