New "Used" Benz owner questions
1. Where do I get a new replacement or new remote key fob. I only have one and am worried if I lost it. How much is it too.
2. The mechanic told me that the radio has a code on it and if I lose the batt its going to lock, how do I get the code?
3. No spare tire/donut. How or where would I go about getting a replacement?
This is my first Mercedes and I love it and just want to get it back in to pristine operating condition. Thanks for your help!!!

1. Sometimes keys show up on eBay but you still have to go to the dealer to get it programmed to your car. Getting a key at the dealer and programming is about $250-$300 I think. I've always been surprised at how many people post that they have loss their one key! Congrats on thinking ahead.
2. If the factory radio is still in place you can go to the dealer show proof of ownership and they'll give you the code. You'll need it if you disconnect the radio or battery or the battery fails. Actually you could just wait for that to happen since you'll only be without the radio for the time it takes to stop by the dealer. FYI, if it's not the stock radio but aftermarket (Pioneer, etc) then no code is needed.
3. MB supplied stock full sized rims/tires for your W210. Sometimes they show up on CL or eBay. Or you might keep an eye out for W210 being parted out and buy the spare. Info on the size, offset, part no. etc is stamped on the inside of the rim. If you have any plans to upgrade to oversized tires or newer rims you might want to get that rim first for a spare and search for the others later.
Also, you might want to get an Owners Manual if it didn't come with one. Pretty cheap from the dealer. Lots of electronic features built-in.
Finally, one good (but not the only one) source for OEM parts, fluids and filters is online seller autohausaz. You can do much of the maintenance yourself, if motivated, and save quite a bit of money.
You can't get one off ebay and have it programmed won't work
you need to take in your drivers licence and your registration.
Shop a few dealers as prices range from a few hundred to 250 or so.
Dealer will have the radio code if it is the original radio in their files.
If not you will need to pull the radio and get the serial number and for 20 bucks get the code from becker audio
Write it down or look in your radio manual if it came with the car.
Does the a/c work
if so run the onboard diagnostics
Brakes are an easy diy job
Have fun

My mechanic also told me that the key was a dealer only item.
