E300D Cruise Control P0120 problem
The car is an early production 96 E300(before May cut-off) so I imagine it is equivalent to european 95 W210s.
Soon after turning on the cruise control the Check Engine light comes on(with code P0120). Cruise Control works fine(Accel, Deccel, Brake, Resume, Up and Downhill) and so does the gas pedal(as far as I can tell). The code is only triggered by the CC and goes away after 3 starts without use of CC.
Google search pointed me towards a few other people who had similar problems always with 96 model year and diesel engines, but no solutions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Out Of Control!!
The short most probable answer is to change out your faulty brake light switch, however if you have never changed one it will not take the suggested 20 minutes to change, it will be more like an hour, just be patient and a contortionist. Good luck!!

Has nothing
to do whatsoever with his brake switch.
Added to the fact that some new members that did have issues related to faulty bls changed them out in under 20 minutes.
Far easier than replacing an evaporator temp sensor and I have those down to being able to r/r in under 10 minutes by feel.
Baited breath,my ***.

Added to the problem?
You were the (Jack)*** that gave him some off the wall solution
"The short most probable answer is to change out your faulty brake light switch"
Based on no symptoms pointing towards the solution you pulled out of your ***,no codes,no warning lights, indicating brake switch.
He has a TPS code check the cable, check the tps unit. It is not a brake switch,so why waste peoples time and money with some asshat guess that you seem to have available in droves.
Turn off the lights in your iron lung and get some sleep. It must be well past your bedtime.
Brake pads,moron

Guys could you please wage your war in PMs, and not clog the forums.
If anyone has some specific advice on what to check, or where to look, or has solved this problem in the past, any input will be appreciated.
Thank You.

The solution was
provided. Check the TPS,check the cable going to the TPS.Lube the cable going to the tps.
Plutoe chasing around giving (Baited breath) comments and then editing them out of existence ,and supplying wild guesses is not a war, when pointed out.
It is one of the many reasons after 2 years of wasting forum members good money to the tune of untold thousands of dollars that he was finally banned from the other large MB forum.
