2000 E430 4MATIC Spring Perch Issue
I have read everything on this issue, that apparently arose at the beginning of the W210 series. I have conflicting information regarding two things. First, I have read the problem was not present in the 2000 models, period. Second, I have read the problem, while still present in the 2000 models, was not present in the E430 4MATIC.
Which of these, if any, is correct.

Follow-Up
I am sorry, I hit submit before I was finished. I would greatly appreciate any advice or comments. I have been referred to and read all the links in the various forums on this issue, but still do not have a straight answer. Maybe that means it is a car by car / region by region / case by case issue that requires inspection of the location in the particular vehicle.
Thank you to anyone, in advance, for any advice regarding this issue.

Thanks, Illest; I have that response from another member. I appreciate the feedback. Nice picture, too. I look forward to further analyzing the "new" E430 I bought.

2000 e430 gone bad.....Base model
This has been a night mare in my opinion. Back in 2016, my drivers side coil spring caused severe damage to my entire front bumper, etc...I had a body shop do all the body, Where they incorrectly put in the sway bar backwards & put the incorrect color coded spring into my car. I had to replace all my coil springs, brakes and rotors. Had to get the damage from the body shop repaired too.
So now in July 2019, the passenger side coil spring broke off, and the same exact nightmare. I hit a man hole cover in a road construction zone. I just replaced all my brakes and rotors a month ago, so really feeling the pain.
Is there a safety recall on this? If not, there should be!!
This is a rear while drive model base.

Perfect visual. I thought there was a recall or some sort, but it was certain vin numbers. Unfortunately, my vin was not part of it. I am researching again, if I find it, I will post it. It's been a few years that I have searched.

So the 4 matic cars of the same year, 2000, were not affected by the spring perch issue. I am having the perch replaced, that holds everything together, wondering if I made a big mistake. Anyone have it replaced? Any out put on how long this will even hold up? The spring, just fell out, because it no longer had support to connect to anything. Maybe, there is another thread about this concern.

Many members have have this issue repaired - new perches welded and riveted into place. Done correctly, it will be fine.
Others have not bothered and written off their w210s.
Have you made the repairs? What "big mistake" are you referring to?

khomer2,
No, but in process of doing the repairs. Thank you for replying. Where exactly does this perch attach to on the body of the car. Just so sad to see all the rust underneath. I just do not want to go down the road and repeat the same process again. I may just want to save 900 and invest in a different car. He is replacing perch, coil, and shock with an alignment.
The passenger side is suppose to be worked on. I replaced the coils once before all around the car, but going through this now, is all a learning process. Will I be expecting the drivers side to do the same thing? I sure hope the guy does a good job.

Here is one example of a discussion of many - you can search for the others.
As for the other side? - You need to inspect the existing spring perch and its area it's presently mounted on to access it's condition.
For the most part, many past owners who were not aware of this issue (at that time) most likely did not take "extra care" their w210s such as rinsing thoroughly, the underside, wheel well areas, to clean out the dirt, grit, salt build-up that occurs, due to their environments. And rightly so as who would have expected something like this.
