2000 E430 4MATIC Spring Perch Issue
Which of these, if any, is correct.
Thank you to anyone, in advance, for any advice regarding this issue.
So now in July 2019, the passenger side coil spring broke off, and the same exact nightmare. I hit a man hole cover in a road construction zone. I just replaced all my brakes and rotors a month ago, so really feeling the pain.
Is there a safety recall on this? If not, there should be!!
This is a rear while drive model base.

Many members have have this issue repaired - new perches welded and riveted into place. Done correctly, it will be fine.
Others have not bothered and written off their w210s.
Have you made the repairs? What "big mistake" are you referring to?
No, but in process of doing the repairs. Thank you for replying. Where exactly does this perch attach to on the body of the car. Just so sad to see all the rust underneath. I just do not want to go down the road and repeat the same process again. I may just want to save 900 and invest in a different car. He is replacing perch, coil, and shock with an alignment.
The passenger side is suppose to be worked on. I replaced the coils once before all around the car, but going through this now, is all a learning process. Will I be expecting the drivers side to do the same thing? I sure hope the guy does a good job.

Here is one example of a discussion of many - you can search for the others.
As for the other side? - You need to inspect the existing spring perch and its area it's presently mounted on to access it's condition.
For the most part, many past owners who were not aware of this issue (at that time) most likely did not take "extra care" their w210s such as rinsing thoroughly, the underside, wheel well areas, to clean out the dirt, grit, salt build-up that occurs, due to their environments. And rightly so as who would have expected something like this.
