Door IR receiver not good

Door IR receiver not good
My driver side door handle on the IR receiver has a broken lens.
1. Is it replaceable with out getting a new handle from the stealership at over $500.
2. Where can I get such a part?
3. Has anyone ever replaced such a part?
4. IF I can find one would a part from a C-class work?
5. Am I correct in thinking they only made these for '97 and '98?

Gosh, I did not know I was bothering you so much. Apparently, my query has upset you. Your response is upsetting to us DIY people that have never encountered problems that may be common to others.
I will check the yard as suggested.....

Ok, found a part. I took the door panel off but see no way into the door handle without removing all latch parts.
Has anyone ever done this before? I could use some educated help.
It looks like the new IR receiver part has a place where a screw/bolt may go into it to hold it on the door but I cannot get to this.
Please help as my other IR receiver is falling apart.

The sensor is removable by accessing the screw hidden below the door weatherstrip behind the sensor. Pull the rubber out behind the sensor and look for a screw head back in the groove. I am curious to know where you found a sensor and how much you paid. I have the same problem.

The fix is very easy.....literally 5 minutes.
