Installing a Turn Signal Switch 1999 E320

I'm attempting to install a New Turn Signal Switch in a 1999 E320, the problem is I cannot find the Airbag Bolts so I can take out the Airbag, I'm using a T30 Torx T Handle, but I just can't find the bolts when I stick it in there. Is there a trick to this, Thanks for any help.

Are you positive it's a t30? Did you remove all the covers?

The bolts are deep in holes at the back of the steering wheel. You need a very long torx bit (3" or so).

This is a photo of a 100mm T-30 tore bit engaged in the head of the bolt.

Well, I was finally able to get the airbag out and change the turn signal switch, but found out that did not solve the problem of the turn signal and wipers NOT working. I checked all the fuses in the car and they were alright, so now I'm leaning towards maybe a wiring issue or relay if there is one. Thanks for any help.

I found the problem..It was fuse #3 in the fuse box under the hood.
