Need a car scanner diagnostic tool with transmission capabilities for 2000 E320 w210
Hey guys I'm hoping somebody can help me. The last few days I've been attempting to purchase a car scanner and diagnostic tool that works not only the engine but transmission codes as well. It seems that my vehicle 2000 E320 happens to be in the Twilight Zone when it comes to trying to find a scanner that could function both engine and transmission codes able to clear them or reset them. I know I could spend 500 to $2,000 or more on a scanner that is super championship but I don't feel like I need to do that. If anyone could help I'm sure it's one of you guys. I spent the last 2 or 3 days purchasing and returning the wrong scanners due to miss labeling and fine-print etc. I need to get my car out of limp mode. The issue really quick was, that my dog Yoda knocked over my coffee into the Center gear shift module. I replaced that and I'm told that I need to reset the codes or something like that in order to get the car out of limp mode.
Thank you all in advance

MaxiEcu.
Probably the cheapest scanner you can get that will do advanced scanning and adaptations. It cost about $100 and 38 pin adapter is about $10
It did not support older, pre-lifted transmissions on W210 in the past but I think they add the program.

Don't waste your time and money on Polish crap---for 600 us bucks you can get a recent MB DAS Xentry diagnostic set(laptop, software and C3 mux) that incorporates the HHT which would be used to diagnose your car and many others up to the MY of the software you choose. Search as there are thousands of chicom suppliers.
Then your only issue is to take six months learning how to use the system vs returning here and whining about "my system dosen't work---help"

Well if the learning curve is the only issue then I likely have no issues. I can learn faster then you can ever get laid.
Let's hear more from you and your opinions, hopefully you can add a link to your talk so that youre more than just entertainment
Thank you for your participation Looking forward to seeing a link

Well Ali, when you decide to step up to the majors, send a PM to Pluto U asking to get enrolled in the most recent DAS Xentry TV class. For a 1000 USD you get 7 hours of intensive interactive learning, you buy your own lunch, and if you want, you can use the two 10 minute brakes to get laid.

Consider that after spending $1000 for his cloned SD - Plutoe still can't find wastegate on his car.
MaxiEcu makes several interfaces and I consider the wireless units a gadget, so I bought cabled version.
The initial price covers one auto brand, but you can more software.
Bare in mind this is European-oriented scanner and doesn't cover US-specific options, but you have full tech support and updates.

This is the page where you could order directly from the manufacturer.
Manufacturer is having bad reputation for timely response as they are busy with constant product updates and I bought it from different supplier. You will find that not all menu is available in English.
MaxiEcu show lately on ebay, but price is different and support is murky.
There should be a guy on UK ebay who can better communicate in English.
Excellent product IMHO but the manufacturer is "victim of his own success"
They have no drive to make more sales.

How do you guys feel about this Delphi unit (https://diagautosoft.com/index.php/product/delphi-ds150e-universal-car-truck-professional-diagnostic-device/)
if I'm reading this correctly this device covers all of the vehicles systems which would include the transmission. Is that how you guys read it as well?

I don't view the MaxiECU a viable scanner, especially when the manufacturer has an iffy track record
in customer support in addition to the language barrier. This seems to be one of those examples of
being penny-wise-pound-foolish. But that is for each person to gauge in terms of their pocketbook
vs time (and need).
Here are other links to read:
http://www.mercedesmedic.com/best-ob...r-diagnostics/
https://www.benzworld.org/forums/w21...d-scanner.html
another well established, constantly upgrading proprietary protocols, is Autoenginuity but I don't have
firsthand knowledge of their recent models. I did use one about 10 yrs ago but did not use the device
to poll MB transmission codes.

I currently have a MB STAR clone (C3, I think) in the shop but have only put in about 1 hour it so far.

WOW ! Don't you just like review by people who have never seen the product?
When naturally getting Tech Support from MaxiEcu in my native Polish is extra edge and they did some software changes on my personal inquiry, I have been contacting other scanners TS as well. When I ask new Mercedes-designated scanner manufacturer if it will support W212 - only answer that come from China was "It will work".
Well... it did not.
Bare in mind that most W210 ended their lives and support for them is hard to get. Most of the recommend scanners will not support W210 at all.
C4 is good scanner when you are a geek who knows how to make the program work.
My friend has one and seem every time he needs to use it - he has to call Deplore for TS.
Than you can see in W211 designated thread - when one of those quits- the seller is nowhere to be find.

You will need to set up the computer as a dual-boot system. Run the latest diagnostic software under Windows 10 and the older HHT software under Windows 7. No, I do not have the software available and I do not provide support for the diagnostic systems. There are those on this forum that do so contact them via PM.
