New 211's question
Did any of your 211's come with Conti Sport Contact 2 tires as original equipment and if so how were they, any vibration, shimmy, noise or flat spotting issues?
Thanks

Mine has them. I now have 9,000 miles on them and there is no sign of wear. They do take a set when parked for several days, especially when it is cold. Then they shimmy for a couple of miles until they warm up. Handling is excellent. They are a bit noisy, but I don't notice this unless the radio is off. I will ride them out until they need replacement, then probably go with Michelins.

I think that the majority of Appearance Package equipped E's in climates that get little or no snow get the ContiSucks 2. Poor tire. Much better alternatives. Replaced them with the Michelin PS 2 A/S and that is also a poor tire (at least on the E), but they have been wearing well. Hopefully I'll be able to wear out the Michelin's, with enough time to put the ContiSucks back on for the summer before I trade in the car off lease.
Looking back, I would have probably gone with a set of Dunlop SP5000's. A lot of other good options exist these days. Check the tire forum, or ask Luke.

I love the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my E. Clearly they are far superior to the stock Michelins that came on the E350. The E55 came with the CSC II's and they were crap.
I use the Pilot Sport A/S in the rainy months and in the dry months the PS2's go back on the E55.

Never had problems with my original Continentals. Mine wore out at a good 15,000 miles, though. The torque abuses rubber.
