thx

i started this process looking at caddy sts v8 w/ nav, cost around 53-54K new. Then ended up looking at the M45, cost was 52K w/ loaded v8 non-sport. Then...ended up at a mercedes delaership, and here i am after a couple of weeks of trying to figure out if this was the car for me. i dunno. i hope after 3 years they got all the bugs worked out and hope i get at lease 18/19mpg.

now the waiting game as it wont be here till next week!

The wait is always a pain. Nonetheless, congrats on your purchase.

I've to wait until fall......

EQS 450 4Matic SUV
Went thru the same decision process

I was close to getting the AWD STS where I had an attractive supplier discount. I ended up with an 05 E500 4matic with a few less options than you list above. Pre-price increase MSRP was $64070 and I got a $7400 discount which was not quite as good as you did. My overall mpg average after 1600 miles is 20.1 according to the trip computer on the dash.

Thanks guys. I'm definately streching my budget, and am really concerned about resale as i don't usually keep cars too long, but figure out of the merc, caddy, and M, the merc will hold its value even with higher miles better than the other 2. Then again, with all the goodies and the fact that its built like a tank, hopefully i want get the itch to switch!

I had 2 Caddys (2000 & '02) just before my 04 E. Nothing in the world feels like or drives like the E. Its something you will know only after having it for about a month. It is world renowned for its elegance, breeding, power and good looks. None of the cars you mentioned have this pedigree. As for stretching your budget... you'll get it back at trade in time. The wait is part of the pleasure/pain. My '04 has been just about problem free from day 1.
