Gorgegous. Look like front and rear are changed (mirror too), but from A to C pillar stay intact. Nice wheels too (remind me of the M3 wheel).
It's fortunate that original Mercedes design this car, instead of hiring Bangle student, as in the W221

Looks like the mirrors are going with the new cls-style where there is a little "arm" holding the mirror as opposed to it being directly attached to the a-pillar.
As for the rims (which I think are nice) and the exhaust, it looks just like what was rumored to be the "new" E350 Sports Package back in January before it was released.

Well, it least is seems to have rectangular mirrors. The mirrors on my E320 a lousy. I should add that they have fixed the rear wheel well so that that looks like it belongs with the rest of the car.

I also think the headlights are a single unit...no more 4 eyes. They have it taped well but it looks like a single unit lamp to me.

I don't think they'd make a radical headlight change for the facelift. Does anyone know what the mid-life facelift was for the W210?
It looks like this was taken around the factory and the "BB" plates (Boblingen) seem to substantiate that.

For the most part they were the same changes made to the CLK MY00 facelift (which is why I know).

Mercedes all the way!
yeah, this is good stuff. i find the mirrors on the W211 don't really match the rest of the car - it works well but somehow too "rounded", as if it came straight out of the W210. so the CLS style mirrors would look really great.
agree it's definitely 4 headlamps - imagine if there was one headlamp but it's so huge! (as can be seen by the exposed sections) it'd look horrible. perhaps there's some minor changes to the rear lamps? perhaps just a single white strip like the facelifted CLK? (just guessing)

Whatever's under the tape, it appears the changes are evolutionary rather than extreme (altho I'm gonna have to get used to those enormous wheels). That's going to be good for resale values on our cars.
Wonder how much more aero drag those bigger mirrors create?

a little off topic, but does anyone know what they use to tape off the front? is the tape easily removed without damaging the finish?
i've always wanted to find a temporary bra solution for long distance drives to protect the front from minor chips and bug splatter.
tia.

Is the exhaust on that for all E's now, or is that an AMG? I like the pipes..
But really from what I can see, it's not a MAJOR change, and most people won't know the difference..

A face lift is just that.... A face lift.
Its not major reconstuctive surgery. Its minor changes to the interior and or exterior yet the car still remains the same. Most people who don't drive these cars will never notice the changes.

Mirrors, airdam, tail-lights and headlights. Predictable face lift. Usually the car looks better after a face-lift but I dunno, with the direction of the latest cars....(ML, R-Class) I think they are going to screw with a good thing. I hope I got one of the last of the beauties.

The driver's side mirror cost an arm and a leg (in spite of the MB dealer in Aachen giving me a great discount since he was happy to see me again). Since it gets dark along with the center rear view mirror and it is heated it is the most expensive. The passenger mirror that is just heated was no big deal.
Here is a picture, the Euro mirrors have a vertical line that indicates where the mirror is extremely convex and helps eliminate the blind spot. I would recommend these to anyone (if you have the money to spend on this kind of stuff).

yes, i WAS wondering why everyone's complaining about the mirrors since Merc mirrors have always been the best, by far, i've ever used. only now do i know there are differences. i wonder what the point of that is?
rockyfeller: give it a bit of time n u'll like the new design language
i find that actually seeing the cars in person makes them look very, very nice. but the pictures are quite angle and lighting dependant.

93eng,
The mirror is held in place with a spring wire on the top. (Note spring wire in the picture of the back of the mirror) I move the mirror to the "down position" and reach in the slot created on the top to press the outer end of the wire down and forward to release it. The top of the mirror can then be pulled away from the mount. There may be some double-stick tape behind the mirror so don't be alarmed if the mirror requires some pulling to release it.
