How many have this color combo?
Just curious, but how many people have the Silver/Stone combo in thier cars? I have only met one other person so far, and would be interested to know.

What variation of silver do you mean? If you mean a "grey" silver like the Iridium Silver currently available in the U.S., then a Stone interior would look sort of icky with it. M-B USA offers the combination, although probably not many people go for it. Our '03 is Desert Silver with Stone. Desert Silver (no longer available on the E-Class) is a "brown" silver, in most light, and the Stone interior looks OK with it.

I have the brilliant silver/stone combo. Frankly, didn't appreciate the door-sill issue, and how I was going to rub the cloth off the door pillar, getting in and out of the car. Other than that, I like the car, and color combination.

Thanks for the replies; to be more accurate I am asking abou Iridium Silver color - as far as I can tell I only know about one other car that has this combo.

I am also puzzled about this color combination.
I found an ordering guide for the new S550 where they explicitely do not recommend the light interior with Iridium Silver.

Offering a color combination but then dissing it is peculiarly Germanic. Most car makers either don't offer combinations that they think will clash, like a light brown with grey or silver, or keep their esthetic judgments to themselves.
Back when upholstery came in colors like green, blue or maroon, there were lots of clashing combinations. Now that upholstery color choices are pretty much reduced to the Holy Trinity of beige, gray or black (plus red in sports models) there aren't that many clashing combinations.

Maybe there's an wear issue with the dye on leather that doesn't exist when you get the same color in vinyl (or cloth in some markets).
I've got Pewter/Stone combo in my E500, & I think is absolutely beautiful. I wear jeans every day (washed blue, not dark Blue) and have leather/drive dynamic seats heated & cooled & have NO issues...
...or it can be as simple as the interior costs them a little more than the other colors & not recommending the color helps control their costs.
