Painting front license plate holder
I was thinking about trying to paint my front license plate holder ( black MB part) to match my bumper.( desert silver ). I am concerned that even if I get the correct MB paint, it might not adhere properly to the black plastic frame. Has anyone done this type of operation?

Yes. I had it done at my stealer. The whole thing painted was about $150, but it finishes off the front end nicely. It's a bummer because I was told they used to sell the holders pre-painted to match, but black is the only option now. I would prefer not to have anything up front, but here in VA we must wear two plates

Front Plate Holder
THanks for the info. What color did you have it painted and how long ago? I just want to make sure it doesn't start peeling and looking bad. Then I have to cough up $89 retail (benz) or $62 wholesale ( benz) for another one.

Pewter metallic. I've had it a year and no signs of any problem and I don't expect any. Beware, you will have to drill two holes into your bumper to mount it.

That holder used to be color keyed to the paint of your car. I know this first hand on my 2004. Then I got in a fender bender, they replaced the bracket, and now it is black. Another cost cutting move!

I took off my front plate holder (installed by dealer).... I almost cried.
4 big nasty SCREWS drilled INTO the bumper... no clips.
Does everyone with a front plate have the same install ?

Bumper plugs
Had the same thing. I went to this website www.bumperplugs.com and got a color matched plug that covers the hole. Cheap alternative to getting the bumper fixed.
