konigstiger, thanks for this info. My 2005 E320 suddenly began smelling of gas after filling up. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the gas tank, no cost to me.

8/17/2018 MBUSA SBC warranty is extended to 25 years. See attachments.
"The warranty on the SBC Hydraulic Unit for 2003-2006 Model 211, 2006 Model 219, and 2003-2012 Model 230/231

The tank and SBC unit are NOT recalls. They're extended warranties. An extended warranty and a recall are not the same thing.
You guys probably think venomous and poisonous are the same thing.

Got the Sept, 2018 letter from M-B USA today regarding the SBC/Electrohydraulic Brake System. I have an 04 E320 and a 2012 SLK 350, seems both are covered.
The parking brake on my E320 sticks and is somewhat hard to release every time I use it. Time for a call to the MB dealer.

Also remember the 10 year/unlimited miles extended warranty on the fuel tank assembly on our old W211s slowly but surely comes to and end.
Got the second car’s tank, both pumps and parts replaced. Saved over $3300 on the repair.

Quick question
Are these something im able to call up to my local mercedes and see what i "qualify" for. Or does the part actually have to be bad. Sorry if dumb question just new to the warranty thing. Do all work myself usually.

Yes, go to MB and they will look up what’s been done already and what’s still open based on your VIN.

The extended warranty isn't the same as a recall. With a recall, they just fix it. The extended warranty means they only fix it if it's bad. If it's not bad, they won't do anything but charge you for the diagnostic. The fuel tank is just an extended warranty, not a recall.

I thought it best to list this info in one place for better referencing. I will update this thread if and when new campaigns are released (relevant to the E & CLS).
Make sure to call your dealer and ask them to check VMI to see if your vehicle is included. Have your VIN handy when you call.
Recall Bulletins
These are government mandated and are received by MBUSA from DCAG. These recalls are monitored for completion (by the dealer) and have to be completed in 2 weeks time. Recalls never expire. Customers are contacted (i.e.: letter), and vehicles are repaired as soon as possible.

I got a bunch of these letters from Mercedes while back and thought it was somebody trying to scam talking about a extended warranty for a Mercedes I was wondering if anybody on here might happen though or how to get in touch with somebody to have them resend the letters so I can I see the dealer for applicable Servicing

No need to have letters simply ask MB dealer to check VMI (vehicle master inquiry) to see if there are any outstanding campaigns applicable to your VIN. If so, Recalls & Service Campaigns do not expire therefore all are free.

New Zealand too
Have just confirmed this month that any imported Mercedes vehicles (not sold NZ new) that have safety recalls will be coverd by NZ Mercedes dealers at no cost.
Lots of Japanese imports here with recalls not being even acknowledged up until now.
Guess they decided to face the problem before someone gets killed.
Better late than never.

Approximately 744,850 vehicles affected. Affected VINs will be flagged in VMI as “PENDING”, have dealer check VMI.

I believe the recall begins 14 February if I am not mistaken, what would be the process to go through to get my non-pano sunroof checked and/or replaced after the recall sets in? The sealant on mine is beginning to deteriorate slightly.

Is it a "recall" or a service campaign? (Will registered owners be getting letters)

I doubt its a recall since not every car that might be affected is in fact affected. Let’s face it. If you haven’t lost your sun roof yet it probably will never fly off.
Another thing to consider: today’s mechanics can barely perform an oil change without breaking something. I can imagine how many sun roofs will leak after they worked on it while the sun roofs put in by factory workers are leak free even after 15-18 years now.

Yep, I just got the above for the sunroof yesterday in the mail.
I can only imagine what the dealership would break if they are replacing it... When I had to get a new hood on our w211 after a truck kicked back a tennis ball size rock that dented it and cracked the windshield. It took 3 times back and forth to authorized MB center to repair the black plastic hood cowl clips because when they pulled the windshield they broke those. Something as simple as just twisting and pulling out the plastic grommets were also broken so I had them on the 3rd time order all under hood pieces of plastic that were broken (almost $600+ worth) and then when it came in I replaced it. I'd imagine they would have to take down the headliner and various other things... so that would mean broken clips, and probably ribbon cables from the overhead consoles..lol.
I'll inspect the sunroof panel over the weekend. But I agree with some said already.. 11+ years and the sun roof hasn't leaked or fallen out yet so I'm not TOO concerned unless I see there is definitely a bond separation.
