New wheels for the E500? Have questions/Want Opinions
So I think I'm gonna put some new shoes on my E. I've narrowed it down to two choices. One is a MRR GT1 in silver and the other is a Axis Matrix in gunmetal. I would want 18" staggered to get an aggressive look but don't want to upset the ride, either. I do have a couple of questions though:
1. Is setting Airmatic to Sport 2 enough to lower to get rid of fender gap?
2. Does anyone have any experience with either of these wheels?
3. If so, where did you get them and price paid
4. Will I need to re-align the car once I upsize the wheels?
And now for the opinions....
From my sig, you can see that the car is Brilliant Silver but I have recently added tint to keep things a bit cooler inside during the summer.
2. Does anyone have any experience with either of these wheels?
3. If so, where did you get them and price paid
4. Will I need to re-align the car once I upsize the wheels?
1. the airmatic sport 2 will not get rid of the fender gap. At least, not to a point where it's one or 2 fingers.
2. Not sure
3. Not sure
4. alignment is good for your tires. get yo wheels, slam your car, get an alignment. typical scenario.
My friend had axis rims on his accord. they seemed okay.

Has anybody upgraded to 18 inch wheels withouth lowering? Does it give you that 4X4 look that I can't stand? I really want to lower only if I have to. Don't want to disturb the silky smooth ride of this car.

I'm having trouble getting the fronts mounted. It looks like there is a little dust cap on the end of the hub and it has a lip on it. This lip prevents the wheels from fitting flush with the hub in the front only. I removed this dust cap and the wheels will fit flush, but then they won't clear the calipers. So, I'm gonna have to order some spacers. I'll post pics as soon as they come in.
