W211 Air Filters
Besides the stock filter...what other brands are out there for the 06 E350? Checked K&N website and filters for the 06 E350s are not available yet.

03 E500 and Corvette
I just haven't replaced with any aftermarket. Don't have part #'s but they are available. K&N has them if you need the part # you can go to their websits. $75 for the MB part. It really is 2 filters so considering the cost of each 1 not too high a price. The E500 is still under warranty and when it needs a air filter I have just picked up the MB part. Jim

Once in a while, there's a posting regarding OEM vs some other brand of air filters and the debate goes on and on -- This and other MB forums.
Most of us just use the OEM filters and don't bother with any aftermarket filters -- that's probably why you didn't a flood of replies.
Regards,
paul....

Re: Air Filters
Given that you have 2 filters on the V6 as with the V8, you have enough filter media area that you can go a long time without changing the filters, and a K&N won't make much difference. I would however also check into the Green Filter line as their product has received high acclaim if you really want to go aftermarket.
If it were my car, I would just change the standard filters every 2 years or 20K miles, you will not lose power or mileage, and have no warranty concerns.

Thank you for all the replies fellas. I am not going to change my stock filters as of yet. I just want to find out what you all think about aftermarket filters and the advantages, if any, for the W211. Thanks again.

Agree with paulv, stick with the OEM (probably made by Hengst or Mann) filters. As far as I am concerned, the K&N filter only has disadvantages over OEM.
The air filters in your car can easily go 4 years/60k miles unless you are operating the car on dirt roads. I wouldn't believe me if I were reading that; take the filters out and see for yourself. There is a lot of filter area.
If you want the car to go faster, I suggest you trade your car (when you are ready to) for a higher powered car (E550, M45, 545, CTS-V).
Good luck!
