Its amazing how much the front license plate has to be bent. (Here too) I wonder how much damage the point of the front bumpers will sustain due to crappy parallel parkers backing into them thinking there is more space between cars.

The face lift was done by a non-Mercedes Indonesia service provider/Gray Market dealer who is the official Brabus & Lorinser Dealer here in Jakarta Indnesia. Shop is called ADS and they are located in Kebon Jeruk a suburb of Jakarta.

hey jakarta expat,

sorry this is a little OT, but I just have a question regarding your E280.

My mom's is in SG, and I'm trying to get her to replace her current C200 to an e-class. She wants the E200K , but I think the E280 is better.

being in nyc, i have no idea how those two car drive or feel like.

May I ask why did you choose the E280? Not the E200k or even the E350?
Is there a big difference in driving and power?

thanks.

E200k would be fine for Singapore as the traffic does not allow you run out the engine and on the toll roads the traffic police do not allow it and fine you quite heavily for it. Besides why would your Mom need the speed unless she is a speed queen?

I chose the E280 as it was one of a few in stock and it had the ootions on it I wanted, if I had to order from the factory then I would have waited 4 to 5 months. E350 - You know how they charge here for cars and in Jakarta if you buy a 3 liter or larger engine then count on a higher tax of 20 to 35% of the amount original amount I paid for my E280. Some difference in power not in driving and again it did not make sense to buy anything more than what I could use due to the traffic and road conditions.

Hopefully al;l cars will soon come equipped with the parking parellel parking system, similar to Lexus, to avoid this issue

I noticed that the "old" grille in the pictures has five horizontal slats, not four. I've never seen a W211 grille, '03-'06 or '07, with five slats. Is that a special deal for the Asian market?

This is standard 06 (5 slats) and standard 07 (4 slats) grill from Germany. It is what they put in both cars for those years.

I didn't see the parktronic sensors in the "after" shots. Did you loose that feature with this change?

That AND that second car changed color. The first car is some sort of obsidian black while the second is capri blue. The plate is the same but that can be moved to and from very easily.

Something is fishy here.

Am I the only one seeing this color change?

They both look black here, but different blacks... could be the way things are being reflected in the second pic though. The pics would have been taken a day apart, right?

No, no color change just the way the sun was bouncing off the metallic black. Will post some more pics this afternoon but then I expect an apology or you will be the fishy one.

Here in Jakarta you can have plates made by a guy working at a booth on the side of the road. But they have to follow the color regulations for the plate itself. Considering Turkey I would think you could easily find local craftsmen there to make plates for your car.

The pics of the car is in the garage so you do not get confused by the bright sun light blinding your eyes, oh and the only thing that is fishy around here is your sister, tell her to close her legs.

Jakarta... your facelift looks awesome!

My brother is doing his this week. He's ordered the E63 bumper and grill already.

Do the new style bi-xenons plug in to original wiring harness or was re-wiring neccessary?
