HID, fog lights, headlight install guide 211 E series may work on other series models

I believe h7 is a halogen bulb for "flash" function only.
Anyone else ever experience this ?
Thanks!
thanks

Looking forward to your photos. And if you don't mind, can you tell what items I will need to retrofit my 2006 W211 headlights to HID?

Thanx to your detailed DIY convertion to HID (headlamps & fog), but the only dilemma I can't figure out is how to remove my 07' W211 E350 headlight bulb connected to the head light holder (where the bulb plugs into) while still attached to headlamp unit. I tried turning counterclockwise while facing the rear of the headlamp, but it won't give. While still attached to the headlamp assembly (rear), do we first pull the head light holder (plugs into bulb) out of the connector (metal portion connected between head light holder and bulb) or turn the holder, connector with bulb attach simultaneously counterclockwise?

I managed to get my fat hands into the light compartment from the top, and removed the ballast, the bulb (with the small clips - Thanks for that hint!!) and then replaced the clips and the ballast. Then I replaced the dust cap - all looked normal, I used gloves so that I never touched the bulb and was very careful to make sure all the alignments and such were clean...
So, then I turned the car on and got the error message, no light and the same "Low Beam" out message...So, I did the same thing all over again, with the 2nd bulb - and still no joy!
Do I need to reset something? Could the Ballast be bad? Did I screw something else up???
Any assistance would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Wow, am I that lame? I see nothing for any lamp at all...Help!?
Thanks - and if it's in the hood area, then I am completely lame! JZ
The problem is just the right side - I had the entire driver-side light cluster, lamp replaced about two years ago - had an accident with a raccoon and it shattered that light altogether...
So...I am guessing it's the ballast...but now, I have no idea how to find a replacement ballast...And for the right side...I want to get this working, but it's been a time-consuming process, and now I wonder if I should have just brought it in to the shop....
Anything else you might suggest? Thanks again. JZ
If this part is bad, I can find them online, but I wonder if the original is bad?
Any suggestions on that? Or anything else that anyone can come up with...I am getting to the point where I just bring it to my dealer and have them fix it...
Not sure...Thanks...
JZ
