I had the dealer update my COMAND software. When I received my car I was unable to enter destinations while in motion.
I mentioned it to the dealer and they corrected it. No questions asked.

DTB P-B-82.62/226c updates the Audio 50 head unit resolving most if not all issues. I would suggest you request the dealer offer a goodwill update since it is a known problem addressed by DTB since you more than likely out of warranty. If they refuse, you can purchase CD part # W211589122200 (net $12) and insert it into the head unit the update process will start automatically.

do any of these updates allow the nav to display road names on the map without being fully zoomed in? mine still only shows interstate numbers, with no major road names.

My dealer told me that Harman/Becker is developing a new software version for the W211 COMAND which is likely to include 3D view for the NAV and MAP screen (like in the new C and S) but they couldn't tell me when it would be available. They told me that it's a software update for the headunit and it has nothing to do with the MAP DVD in the trunk. Does anybody know when this new software will be out? I guess it will probably be included in the last (2009) W211.
Any new about that info ?
And any new update for the Euro W211 Command, since

i am having a few problems with this unit at the moment.

Ok, for anybody interested, I have the W 211 589 14 22 00 (SW 46/06) disc available for download.
I have an 04 E320 with factory COMMAND / NAV with the DVD drive in the trunk. I have the 2007.1 DVD map disc installed in the trunk, and I have installed the update disc listed above with no problems at all. I now have MP3 playback with the Single Disc CD player (I have a factory installed CD changer, but it will not recognize the disc). Also, the song title is now listed in the MFD and on the COMMAND. I have not had a chance to see if this has updated the ETA features of the Nav yet, as I have not had the car out of the garage.
Anyway, for those of you that are interested, I have the above mentioned disc available for download. Just burn the files to a CD, and install.
BTW: This is not a sale listing, no charge, if you want it, PM me, I will email it to you or I can set up a page so you can download it. It's about 11MB, so hotmail and gmail will accept it as an attachment.
