You bring up a good point, however according to the picture of the manual Diesel Benz provided, the 5 wiper wash count restarts to 0 every time the car is turned off.

That's great then. Still why would they get rid of the button? Then if you actually wanted to use that feature you have to keep washing your windows until the headlamp washers go off.

I checked my 2007 Bluetec manual. Though I have the headlamp washer button, it also has a 15 wiper count auto headlamp washer feature.

15 or 5? In the W204 it's 10. I'm confused.

Konigstiger kindly reminded me that my VIN number would show the model year. It's an '08 and Konigstiger also confirmed that 1-June was the first day of '08 production.

Wow, they changed it within a year. This is interesting. This 2008 S65 AMG lacks the washer button and the count is 5 as you said. They really should have left the button as well.

Welcome to the Bluetec age. The Adblue will not be availible for cars untill 09/10 perhaps. Until MB and the EPA/state can figure out how to ensure that you don't run out of adblue to keep the car compliant it will never be 50 state compliant. I moved from Slidell yesterday and am moving to Philly watch of for the GNO, I had my Bluetec 2 weeks and a lady ran up a roof shingle hit the glass $2700 and a month later I got my car back. Today after a stop in ATL My wife found my right turn signal lense cracked Looks like someone hit it or and ran a cart into it. No damage to the paint just the lense. My car now just reached 10k miles and it has been a dream. I never drove it more than 120 miles at time back and forth to work a day. But last week I drove it to Huston, and it drove like a dream! My wifes driving it to Philly as I drive the gass guzzling Expedition, for our move lucky her. Enjoy

But on the other hand all 2007 E-class diesels carried the Bluetec badge, so your information is incorrect.

Anyone know the trick

to cause my passenger-side mirror to shift down in reverse? Hard to imagine they have removed such a handy feature.

It is in the 2006 E Class owner's manual. I am sure it is there for the 2007 as well. The adjustments are made on the steering wheel with those + and - and other buttons. I cannot remember exactly.

If it is a new car ask the MB guys to do it at the next service.

It is in my manual but it appears it is standard only in the Canada version; I don't have that option in my 2007 Convenience Menu.

Well it's MBUSA's stupid decisions again. This feature was removed. You will need to have it activated by someone who knows what they are doing with the diagnostic computer.

2007 E320 Bluetec
Congratulations> I'm hoping to acquire a 320 in the next couple of weeks.

What wheels did yours come with. the only ones I've seen at the dealer were the 7 spoke varity. Some have mentioned they got the 350 sport wheels mounted by the dealer. I assume there's some of kind of trade differential the dealer charges for that as well.

Post pic's when you can. Thanks.

I called Teleaid this afternoon and they confirmed the feature does not exist )or is not activated) in my 2007 Bluetec. If we only had the diagnostic program I am sure we could activate it but that could be wishful thinking.

W203 slightly modified
Strange about the Bluetec system not yet having the additive. The EU3, EU4 and EU5 eventually eliminates all the nasty exhaust from diesel. If the engine is EU5 and there is no additive it actually makes more pollution than normal.

The activation of the mirror parking aid is probably only possible with advanced coding not available at dealers.

Ad Blue

This is the only single reason I rushed to order a 2007 Bluetec when I decided I was ordering one back in March/April. I did not want the hassle of Ad Blue.

Wheels & Passenger side mirror

The wheels on the 08 Bluetec are the seven spoke variety. There were a couple others mounted in some of the configurators for other countries, and I like this one much better--it looks especially nice rolling.

Well, I am bummed about the mirror feature. It is a handy thing to have that kick down without fooling with other adjustments. If someone knows the secret about tricking the passenger side mirror into shifting down while in reverse, please share it.

Thanks for all the useful info. So far, the car has been flawless. To answer the earlier question, a weekend inspection didn't reveal any sort of reservoir likely to contain a caustic urea/ammonia mix. Wonder why the delay, when this addition effectively neutralizes so much more of the exhaust emissions?

The delay in going 50-state BLUETEC has a lot to do with the EPA only within the past year approving the UREA injection technique which will be used by several manufacturers (in 2008) to reach 50-state capability. The current MY08 version of BLUETEC allows the MB E320 to be sold in 42 states (45 for MY07). There are now 8 (CA, CT*, ME, MA, NY, PA*, RI*, VT) (*new for MY08) states who have adopted the CARB (California Air Resources Board) rules which base their emission regulations more on NOx output (smog producing) than on CO2 (greenhouse gas-global warming). With the implementation of the UREA system, the BLUETEC cars will have both NOx emissions and CO2 levels at or below other gasoline powered cars and thus be 50-state capable. Keep in mind that if MB had not invested in the technology for this first version of BLUETEC in the E320 which uses a DENOx filter to reduce NOx output (instead of UREA injection), they would have not been able to sell Diesel powered cars in the USA after the end of CY2006. This is why VW (Beetle/Jetta/Passat etc.) is currently out of the market until CY2008. They chose not to invest in a system which would bridge the gap as MB did and will instead wait to implement their UREA based system in CY2008.

2008 E320 Bluetec, Iridium Silver w/Ash, P2, iPod, Bluetooth & Voice control
Got mine last Friday

I picked up my E320 Bluetec last Friday. First 2008 Bluetec for my Ann Arbor dealer. Fairly loaded, P2, iPod intergration, Bluetooth, voice control, wood steering wheel.

I love it.

Yes, I do have the headlight washer button on the dash next to the headlight switch. And yes again, the manual does say that you can set the right outside mirror to drop to a preset position when the shift is moved to reverse.

So far I'm getting over 30 mpg and that's doing over 80 on the highway. Excellent.

My manual also mentions outside mirror for reverse but it does not exist as an option. Please confirm if it exists in Convenience Menu.
