Cost of 3yr/100k ext warranty?

What have you guys been paying for 3yr/100k extended warranty on your E-Classes in the U.S.?

Just curious

MSRP is $4,120 on the MB site.

FYI, the Canadian prices for the MB Extended Warranty for 3 years/160,000 kms are as follows : E320 Bluetec $3210 ; E350 4Matic $3450
There is no E350 non-4Matic available in Canada.

This may well be the only MB option that is cheaper in Canada than in the USA !

Hi all,
I am a bit new to the Merc extended wtty. Is it a good way to get around the high maintenance cost of a used merc? How old should the car be before you consider it worthwhile to get a Merc wtty?

dgoon,

Honestly, with the high cost of repairs on most newer cars, I'd get the warranty upon purchase of a new car. If you buy a used one, and its out of factory warranty, I would consider an aftermarket warranty.

Vik888 made a good point; the extended warranties cost the least if you buy them when you buy a new car. If you are a pre-owned type (as I have been up to now) I think a CPO (certified pre-owned) is worth a look. M-B allows up to 7 years and 100,000 miles from the original purchase date.

I bought a starmark certifiec car with 9000 miles on it. Ok,, so I paid the big $$ to get it. But the warranty in 03 was if I remember correctly about $1500 or so for 6 years 100000 miles. I bought that also,, so now happy

Really haven't needed the warranty. Only $$ items were brake pads and tires. Jim

Warranty is synonymous with "service insurance" .. some use it, others don't. The ones that use it, are sure as heck glad they got it.

The difference between the Mercedes warranty and the 3rd party warranty is that if you dont use the Mercedes warranty they refund you the 2nd and 3rd years warranty that you paid for.
