Where can I find sunroof rubber sliders (accordion style)

Hi everyone. I hope I can make this clear enough without any pictures (my digicam is on the fritz). On the E320 sunroof, there is a rubber accordion style piece that unfolds as the sunroof is put in the tilt position. On mine, the rubber has come apart. I tried to glue it together with superglue to no avail. Does anyone know where I can order the part (outside of the dealer) so I can replace it myself?

Many thanks!

I can't imagine why this would be a generally available part, useable for many different things.

This part is actually called a bellow and if you PM your VIN I can give you the part numbers. I assume you are out of warranty therefore, start by checking with the following sources for discounted cost and either purchase or request your local dealer to match or better the lowest quote.

Requires MBCA membership # (typically 20-25% discount)

The part you are looking for is called 'rubber bellows" or 'rubber boot' and is available from MB. Part numbers are:

A211 780 11 40
A211 780 12 40

It's a ten minute job to replace both. These parts on my E500 have also come apart after 3 years of use. My local dealer quoted me $65 for each side. Drop me a line if you find them cheaper somewhere else.

Alex, good call. Part number is not VIN sensitive and therefore is used across multiple MYs and 211 models. One never knows with MB, sometimes a part has different ID numbers for various same class models yet there is no difference in the part itself.

Good day Alex. May I ask if you have instructions you can share on installing these rubber sunroof bellow? I need to replace mine. Also, I see you've included the part #'s thank you. Should I go to the dealer or are these sold much less on the net? thank in advance

I realize this is an old post but I was wondering if the 211 780 11 40 and 211 780 12 40 would fit my 05 W211 which does not have a pano roof?

I know this is an old thread, but I was hoping to find some better instructions on how to replace these bellows/baffles (accordion rubber on side of sun roof) on our 2004 E320. Does anyone have instructions or pictures. I did search and found some info here from 2005: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...of-baffle.html that said "pry open the plastic panel at the front of the sunroof (do it from the front, go easy, since they held into sunroof via couple plastic lock). Close the sunroof, tilt it up, and pull these two rubber piece, snap new one in, and finish the job..." Is it really that easy, does anyone have any other tips or pictures on how to do this?

Lee

Hi there. I am a new member and trying to work my way around the forums.

This is the closest related issue to a question I have. Does anyone know where I can download information on how to replace my w211 e320 bellows on my sunroof?

Thank you in advance.

Panoramic (code 413) see attachment; left part # 2117801140, right 2117801240.

Standard (414) move sliding/pop-up roof to pop-up position detach rubber bellows on both sides top and bottom to remove; 2157801540, 2157801640.

I attempted to change them today but in the front of the glass there is a plastic piece that gets in the way of the removal. Do I need to take it off as well? I only have a regular sunroof.

Yes, and like others have suggested make sure to pop it off from the front edge of the sunroof. I used one of the wide plastic trim tools, and it popped right off with some gentle nudging. I initially tried prying from the inside and it felt like it was going to break.

Also, if you happen to break that part in the removal of it, it's only about $18 from the dealership so no biggie.
