2008 E350 Bluetooth MHI Quiestion
Im new to the forum and I just purchased a 2008 E350 with the P1 package. While I am waiting for the car I have been trying to figure out as much as possible about setting up my phone with hands free bluetooth. Now I was going to purchase the MHI bluetooth "puck" to hookup in the center console. I know my phone is on the "unnaproved" list and I was just trying to figure out if anyone had a definitive answer on hooking up any phone to the MHI and being able to use it flawlessly ie, phonebook download, steering wheel controls ect.. I have been searching all over the forum but I have not seen any definitive answers.
Any help would be great, by the way this forum helped out a lot with questoins I had and I really appreciate it.
My wife motorola Q is approved and evrything works good, I even thought about trading phones with her

It seems that if your phone has bluetooth, you will be able to use it but somehow it will not download the phone book list. However, It also mentioned in this thread, the dealership may able to fix this.
Someone in a previous thread posted these instructions on how to fix the phone book problem. Has anyone else had any success:
1. After successfully pairing your phone go back to the bluetooth menu and highlight the Mercedes connection
2. Choose "drop". This will drop the connection but keep it in history.
3. Highlight the MB connection again and choose "options"
4. Choose "Send Name Card" It will then bring up all of your contacts.
5. Choose "Mark All", then "Done"
6. Go back to the bluetooth menu and highlight the MB connection again.
7. Choose Connect.
Give it a minute or two and your phonebook will download.
