E350 sport vs AMG pkg, springs

Does anyone know if they use the same springs? I have an E350 Sport and saw a new E350 with the AMG pkg today and the AMG appeared to sit about 1/2 inch lower. My car appears to have 1" gap vs less than 1/2" on the AMG.

Does your car have the 18" wheels? An 07 or newer? Those appear to sit lower because the wheel is an 18 and not a 17. If your car is a true sport it should have the airmatic. Right? The 03 and up non sport 320's have the springs. The sports and 500's have the airmatic.

it's an 07 Sport. The car I saw was an 08 E350 with the AMG sport pkg. I don't thinki there is an airmatic option in 07 or 08 for the E350.

I have the AMG Sports package but I have the regular suspension: Front Independent Suspension and 4-Link w/AntiDive Geometry Rear Suspension 5-Arm Multi Link.

Funny thing is .. I have an E550 w/ 321 AMG Sports Pkg and I think E350/E550's w/ just the sports package (333) sit lower. They seem to lower, and even height. My car looks like its a little higher, and the front is sitting about 1/2" higher than the rear (distance between tire and top of the fender?).

I'm going to try and get my car lowered via SDS and even out the front and rear.

That 08 AMG pkg looks to be the same height as my 07 sport. I would like to lower my car another 3/4" or so and install 19" wheels. I'm wondering if the H&R springs would give me the quoted 1.3" or if the already lowered (1/2") sport suspension car would only go down another 3/4" inch or so. Somebody on this forum must have lowered an 07 or 08 350 sport and know the answer. I wonder if Luke at tirerack has any experience with the results of this mod?

Bobster my guess is that it would go down 3/4" as these lowering specs of 1.3" were for base model w211's like mine.

I have a 1 finger gap on my car all the way around on 18" AMG wheels.

Once you get some 19" wheels the gap should be gone completely. The profile of the tires on the 19" wheels are just a tad bid larger in diameter than the 18" wheels with the corresponding profile tire.

I have some 19" wheels on order as well so I will take comparison photos once I install them. PM for the pictures sometime this week when they come in Warranty is over so here come the mods finally lol...

Did you install H&R springs to get that ride height? If so, how did it effect the handling. I am coming off of a tuned WRX and a Z06 and although I love my car it is awful soft for me. Maybe I should say too soft. I'm wondering if springs and 19's will tighten it up. I would love to see your car with 19's and know how it handles. i have to admit that the new M3 is talking to me!

The H&R's will stiffenit up a bit. Just go with the Sport springs and you will be fine. Just remember that they will "settle" about a 1/4 of an inch over the few months after you have them installed. The race springs will drop it more than you would like.
