Wow. That is so great looking. I now officially have an order for the "back ordered" wheel. It is possibly coming to Jacksonville in about a week and then, when customs releases, shipped to my dealer. We have the wood on our Launch SL and I really like the feel of it-even on a long drive. Can't wait!!

PS, I notice that you have another solution to the great cupholder controversy in the bottle stowed in the net on the passenger side of the second photo. My solution was the insulated cups MB sells that are represented to fit the cupholders. Your simple solution may be better!!!

Well your dealer is telling you the true, My car was supposed to be built on 11/8/02 and then on monday MB sent an email to my dealer stating that my car will be built on 11/23/02 due to unavailability of the Wood Wheel.
All I can say is that the latest Crap form MB sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy so far...
I have to admit that my dealer has given me good information so far - my build date was yesterday and, well, was built yesterday! So I was told today that it will be shipping next week to the states and for me to expect it by mid-December... which would make it about 2 months to the day I ordered it.

Our E500 was ordered with the wood wheel. It was built on 9/19 and delivered 10/21 but did not have the wood wheel. I asked the dealer to obtain one for dealer installation. Last week they indicated that a shipment of them might come in to Jacksonville next week around 11/21 or so.
My salesman indicated this week that there was now one of the "backordered" wood wheels "on order" for me . I do not know if that means the dealer has ordered one or more and allocated one to me or if there is just an order for me.
Apparently they must be coming because earlier I was told that an order could not be placed in the system if they aren't somewhere on their way. That would also be consistent with Crazy4Cars being given a new 11/23 build date which would presume availability of the wood wheel by then at the factory.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed.
