hids-resitors

ok i know this has been coverd i search but did not find a forsure answer
i know that you have to install resistors when putting hids
i used 100ohm 10 watt resistors for my plate light and parking light what size resistors do i need to install hids and why do some ppl use capacitors instead in resistors and if i just take my car to the dealer and have them put it to hid present will this save me the head ache

The ballasts you have now should draw the correct current as to not trigger a fault. You should not have to install any resistors or have the dealer set xenon to present.

Someone with more knowledge could probably explain thisa lot better, but the aftermarket ballasts we install don't draw a steady stream of electricity - the capacitors are used to smooth this out. Some people have been able to get away without using the capacitors. Personally, I had to use them and they solved all of my problems.

Install them according the instructions found here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/188825-hid-fog-lights-headlight-install-guide-211-e-series-may-work-other-series-models.html

Id try it without the capacitors first, some have had success.

Not neccessary. There are several ways to do it. I guess you could install relays and use resistors. But why the added complication?
