I think we have a winner here gents/gals.
I hope that the cup holders have a cover, they are ugly.
It also looks like the E-Class might have S-Class style ambient lighting, look how the wood juts out--could be concealing ambient light.

There has been other stuff on the net about the car having a lot of new driving/saftey featuers. There is supposed to be some kind of driver altertness system, a lane depature system, and some kind of new ESP that prevents the car from being affected by cross winds. Sounds pretty good to me.

But there is only one COMAND screen, the other screen looks like HVAC readouts.

The 63 will probably be quite good but I am betting it will be even slower than the W211 63 due to higher weight. Just a guess though...

The top half of the dash looks like it's made out of the same material of the dash on the W204. I don't like it.
While the new interior will likely be an improvement, the exterior remains a question mark for me.
The raised belt line, raised cowl, smaller windscreen and smaller rear window of the W212 all suggest less visibility for the driver and passengers. In addition, every spy photo that I have seen shows the rear headrests in a raised position. Does this mean the end of the tilting headrests ?
Not every "new" generation of E Class was necessarily an aesthetic improvement over the predecessor; for example, the frumpy styling of the W210 has not stood the test of time. Also consider what happened to the design of the current 5 Series; surely, one of the least attractive cars in its class and a retrograde design.
For the moment at least, the W212 remains probably the best looking car in its class, even six years after its introduction.
I would suggest that it's too soon to conclude from the camouflaged spy photos and photoshopped renderings if the next generation E Class will be an improved design over the W211.

Id also say it looks far more modern than the extremely dated 124.
each car is an evolution of the design.
the 124 was the conclusion of one design, and the 210 was the beginning of another. From the spy shots I've seen, the 212 adopts some of the sharp creases of the 204, which is not a good thing, imho. However, if it gets the more aggressive front end, I think it will look nice.
The interior looks quite nice, but not as nice to me as the current CLS, which i think has the best sedan interior in the MB lineup.
