Those wheels are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I'm a big fan of the larger AMG rims. IMO it keeps the classic MB look, but gives you those big rims. Great job! If you don't mind my asking, how much did each run you? I'm thinking about those 19s on my CLK500. It definately needs bigger rims. Thanks. Car is looking real good.

BTW: Any reason you wanted to debadge? I personally like the badges on my cars.

Thanks for the compliments 500. I agree, the larger size AMG wheels do keep that classic MB look. I got it done over at Globe Motorsport in west los angeles. The manager tried to tell me that I should have gotten 20" Lowenharts...no thanks. That's a bit too bling bling for my taste. The package cost me a little under $3,000 with staggered Pirelli tires, mounted and balanced, out the door. As far as debadging, i don't know. I think the car looks cleaner without any numbers on it....especially in black. I'd love to see pics of your CLK500 rollin' on these wheels..that would truely look amazing. Thanks again for the compliments

3 grand is about what I expected. What size tires you get? I'm debating whether or not I want to spend 3K on it though...they look so good it's hard to decide! Maybe I'll get them as summer rims and put winter tires on the 17s that came w/ the car. I just bought a digicam too so if I do get them, pics will def. be up

That car looks great!
I don't like windows tinting myself, but if you are going to do it go dark all around, but not as dark as limo.

I got 275/30/ZR19 Pirelli rears...and 235/35/ZR19 Pirelli fronts. $3k is a good amount of money, but in this case, well worth it. The stock wheels were really weak. The car looked way too parental to me. Now, this thing gets as many looks as the CL600 does...no joke. I'm really pleased with the way this set up turned out. Thanks for the compliments po.

Nice. Those rims make the fender flare really stand out.

Stevo, they look great. I've got upgraded tires and rims coming from MB soon. It ended up being sort of a discount in that I didn't have to pay all that much for them. However, I will soon have practically new stock MB rims and Pirelli's with about 1500 miles on them. what did you do with your original wheels/tires?

Anybody have any suggestions of how I can get rid of mine? I'm sure they have some value to someone but I don't need a second set and have no need for snow tires.

Thanks for any advice.

Barney, what wheels/tires do you have on your E-Class that you eventually want to sell? Are they the standard double spoke or 5-spoker from the sport package?

Perhaps you should post the informaton on the wheels as well as tire brand/size both here and the "for sale" section. Name your price too.

Certainly someone will be looking fo a spare set to mount snow tire on.

Even better than my factory 18" 5-spoke - They look different. I'm thinking this is the CL style right?

19 AMGs look great...

Stevo, those wheels are really sharp and understated. I'm a big fan of debadging. Tinting is a completely personal thing.

Did you do anything to the W211 suspension? Or is that the standard airmatic with the AMGs?

Very nice look!

Nice setup Stevo. Its all about the face of the rim. Notice the rims have a full face, since its a one piece rim it doesnt have any lip so it looks like a 20" rim. I bet if anyone can fit the brabus monoblock 4 one piece in 20x.9.5, The car would look like a Matchbox.

Stevo,

My Black/Charcoal debadged E320 has 20% tint all around- 2% lighter than limo tint so you can make out interior images during the day, but not see clearly into the car. I can post pics if you like.

BTW- debadging and tint were great mods/additions, but my hardwired V1 truly takes the cake. Anyone out there considering it, don't hesitate!

I have never had good experience with the window tint. It is fine for about a year and then goes to hell at some point and looks terrible and is impossible to remove.

Is there something better that I don't know about?

My tint was done by the guy that tints for my dealer. I took a careful look at what he has done for them over the last few years (a few cars sold new had returned to the lot as re-sales) and it all looked really good. My guess is that the quality of the film itself has a lot to do with it, as well as the quality of maintenance you put into it. Just my $.02.

Don't do it yourself, or stop taking it to cheap places ............j/k, but seriously, my wife loves window tint, and made me put it on the suburban, the very dark one, it has been there for the last 4 years, I paid about 100.00 bucks for 2 windows, but the tint is wonderful, it has faded very little (the truck stays parked outdoors everyday), and no damage at all. Make sure that where you take it they use good materials and they give you a 5 year warranty on it.

I guess finding the right place must be the answer. I have paid the higher prices in the past and still have the problems so the price is not the answer.

Not sure how to find a good one. I'll ask the dealer but not too enthusiastic about the answers you get from service managers.

Hi Stevo, I'am in the position of getting new rims. What made you decide on CL-1 piece, and not CL-2 piece

I have the CL-2 on my CLK, im thinking about switching the rims and getting CL-1's because they look better slammed... what do you guys think?

My friend wants the same rims.... he has a hard top CLK coupe, and he was wondering if it would look better with CL-2's or CL-1's. Im in the same dilemna. Should i keep my rims? What rims should my friend buy?
