key Less Go questions

Hello everybody.

I got a 2005 E400 CDI With key less go EU (I am from belgium).

I got 3 questions.

1 : did somebody already try to dismantle the key, just to keep the transponder and integrate it in a Jewel like a neck chain (in gold or leather.)... ??

I do not know how big is the part useful to make it work, since we can remove buttons, IR....

2 : is it possible to program the car to close all the windows and roof when closing the car?

3 : Is it possible to program the car to automatically close the car after let' say 10 sec or 20 when the key is outside the car or no more nearby it?

I'm afraid your first question scared forum members away. Or are you a woman? I don't think women would like to wear a key instead of real jewellery.

For 2) and 3), the answer is no. Also your manual tells the answers for 2 and 3, not for 1.

I think keyless go behavior was changed for recent model, at least I can close windows.

Auto closing is a cool feature, I had it in Lexus, I do not know why MB doesn't have it.

Thanks for response.

1 ) I am a man, I want to integrate the electronic par in a jewel. So I will lok as a jewel but open my car.

2 and 3 Manual just suck.. If you read manual, you can not watch DVD while driving.. But there are solutions..

So maybe one for auto closing...

I did not claim one cannot close windows, but that was not the question. The question was about auto closing windows. By the way, if there was that feature, I would prefer it switched off but I understand there are different preferences.

Most, if not all functions are controlled by software embedded in the vehicle electronics. A few or several functions or parameters, can be changed (by original design), using proper interface equipment or known instruction set. An attempt to overcome these by external means may be futile. Hacking into computer programs is relatively easier since most computers use common microprocessesors with known and published instruction sets. Vehicle manufactuers (especially large ones) use custom designed microprocessesors with lesser known or secret instruction sets. Serious commercial and industrial hackers, may despite have an ability to, using sophisticated equipment or knowledge, break some of the code and functionality down for industrial espionage; quite useless to the average person.

Amateurs often attempt to (and sometimes succeed) in replacing the hardware/software component between the input and output device or circuit, with their own. A few hacks, often turn into commercially available products.

What you are specifically asking, is by no means impossible; it would be an interesting project.

I do not think that extracting electronics from a key and putting it in jewel is complicated task. However you should be aware that any metal including gold and platinum is a perfect electromagnetic shield. So you should wrap your electronics inside a stone.
