Done a service D+ & brakes at the dealer lately?

If you've done both service D+ and brakes at the dealer recently, please post your cost breakdown. I need to get D+ done in another 1,200 miles -- And I'm very certain I'll need all four brakes as well.

My car mileage is a little over 48,000 now.

I ran a search on D/D+ and brake cost, but the pricing was all over the place.

Best I could gather based on previous posts was that it'll probably run $1,500 to get service and brakes done. Can anyone confirm?

And if MB Laguna Niguel performed your service, would really be great to get your feedback! That's who's been doing work on my car thus far.

Thanks so much.

If you are approaching the 50k mark you should ask about the MB extended warranty until 100k, it will pay for itself several times over. Once your warranty is exprired you can no longer buy the extension.

For $1000 what I got from the Dealer was

1) Front pads and sensors
2) Rear pads, rotors (??) and 1 sensor.

I did the next brake job at home. What I paid was:

1) $80 FOR PADS
2) $10 for sensors
3) $22 for Dot 4+ fluid spec for SBC

Total $112.00

You decide.

Going to the local MB independent shop tomorrow for D: $147 parts/labor.

If needed, brakes (pads/sensors) $157 per axel.

So has anyone gone to the dealer for D service and brakes? Your breakdown of cost would be appreciated.

Otherwise, independent shop might be the option.

Our E500 is due D in 3500 miles. I plan to run the FSS to find the items needed. Then do the service at home. I will let you know what if find. After all MB made the FSS so simple even a cave man could do it.

Thanks guys. The most work I've ever done on a car are oil changes, bulb replacements, tire rotations.

That's why i'm so dead set on service.

But if you guys say a retard might be able to get done himself...

Don't know about the extended warranty when you buy a new MB vehicle, but I had to pay for the brakes repair myself........not covered the existing OEM warranty or my CPO extended warranty.
