2007 E350 Saks end of lease options
I was told that I can buy my 2007 E350 saks edition for just under $30k...my lease comes due in April...Am i better off to buy it now or wait till April 1? Are prices going to drop over next few months or possibly go up until Spring/Summer season? I'm thinking I should buy the car but not sure if it will go down more after new version of e350 is released...any comments would be appreciated

Very true. One advantage would be that the new one would have the upgraded COMAND system. I had wanted to recreate the Saks edition for my E350, but I decided to just take something off the lot that was pretty basic Blk/Blk with P1 because I want to get a new E shortly after it comes out.

I'd probably wait as long as you can retain the option of the buy-back on the lease. I've never leased a car so I have no idea how those contracts work.
Additionally, I'm not sure if this data point will help but I just bought a 2007, Saks edition for $33.5K out the door with 25K miles. Perfect condition inside and out. Also nice to have the CPO warranty coverage etc.
Side comment. I was a bit bummed when I saw the 2009 models are available in the Saks color combo. I liked having the special edition color combo....

Almost Saks
I have almost the same car and situation. Mine is black with sahara beige. Only option I don't have is the panorama roof. Leased for a one pay of $12,600 plus tax. Lease is up now - residual is $40, they are at $30. Auctions are at $23 to $24. I offered them $24.5 - we'll see what happens.

I was lucky enough to find a '09 "Saks Edition" already on the lot. The sale manager had built it himself but never took possession. It wasn't in their inventory, but he showed it to me when I was about to leave and continue my search. So, I was able to bargain on it (they really needed to sell cars.)
PMB, I agree that the new Comand makes a huge difference. (I bought this car planning to keep it for a long time.)
He had every option on it. I like trunk close and all the rest of it, except the illuminated door sills. It's just too bling for me. I feel kinda embarrassed when it's valet parked at a restaurant at night; I live in West LA where there are tons of expensive cars and the E350 isn't one of them. It's like I'm trying to make the E350 something fancy when it's really just an ordinary car. (I removed the upright and put on a flat star; I also put on a new grill without the star on it; it's an exact copy of the OEM grill.)
Does anyone know if I can just pull a single fuse to kill the lights? Maybe it's not too difficult to pull the bulb and not get a light out fault. Anybody with standard sills wanna trade? Seriously.

What was the price out the door?

I bought the thing (no lease or any MB financing) and the price was 56,551 on a MSRP of 64,785. That was in early October. P2, pano, leather, parktronic, side shades, etc., etc. Tax here is 8.25 and the DMV fee was $200 or so. So, 61,500 or something like that.
Probably could have done better (today for sure) but I was getting tired of the haggling and my time is worth something, too. Plus it was the only car like that in the region.
PBear: What year is your car? What kind of shape are they in, etc.? How much of a job is it to do? I don't mind it saying 'Mercedes Benz' on them, but the blue light is a bit much, imho. Maybe if I just pull the plug....?
