E350 end of lease buyout
I have a 2007 e350 (30k miles) Saks edition (all the options)...mercedes financial is offering a discount of about 12K off residual that puts it at around $30k...is that a good price? would i be better off leasing a new 2009 or even extending my lease and buying a 2010 when they come out...my lease is over April 1st...also does anybody else have an offer for a e350 from MB financial and did the price continue to drop the closer you got to the lease end?

$30k is a good price for a "key to the cure" car. The pre-owned market is in such high demand, they are going well over that at auction (the Saks cars that is).

thats a great deal and its good to see MB Fin has finally figured out they need to discount these cars more from the original book value or else they are going back to them. My '07 E350 lease expired last month and they did not discount the car more than $500 from the $41k residual value! I told them back in November I could easily get the same car with less mileage in the low $30's and they simply didnt care. I ended up leasing an '09 E350 instead and got more car more options for less money than what I was paying, although the term of the lease went from 27 to 39 months. Dont really care as I love the car, hate the new model style and wanted a lower payment.
If you like the car buy it. I think its a good deal, but maybe you can get an extended warranty thrown in! Good luck and let us know the outcome.

I bought my 03-EClass for $28,000 Canadian less than a year ago.
I guess Cars in canada are much more expensive.
07 E-Class for $30K is a good deal IMO.

2007 E350 Sport
Again, this is for reference but I purchased my 2007 E350 with Navi, sport, and some other good options for 29,500 out the door. I know prices are all over the place both geographically and price wise but it's good to get a point of reference.

2007 E350 Sport
My lease just expired on 2/21/09 and I ended up buying the car. Its a 2007 E350 sport with a pano roof and wood wheel with 24k miles. Discount was roughly 9k off residual. I got it for $32,027 out the door (includes 7% NJ sales tax). I was trying to get the price lower but they wouldn't go lower. The rep at MB financial stated that they don't compete with their dealerships and can't lower the price. They pretty much said they have no control over it. If I were you I would try to get them to throw in an extended warranty. I didn't try it nor did I even think of it at the time. The price does tend to go lower toward maturity but it generally depends on what the cars are selling at the auctions. So last month the price could have been less than this month which means you pay more. good luck!

i asked about extended warranties and the MB Financial rep said they have absolutely nothing to do with warranties and they cannot and have not ever offered them....I've read on this site that people have received extended warranties but the rep said that is impossible and never happens

My friend is a wholesale car buyer - he said they go through the auction in the low to mid 20's all the time now - don't know about the Sak's however - have no idea what they are - If you love the car buy it and move on - you can always find something cheaper better nicer etc - life's too short to sweat - we all only have a few good years left so enjoy it - right? - just out of curiosity what part of the country are you located in ? Bear in mind in Canada or in Europe or other parts of the world that car might sell for 30 or more % higher -

rotat,
Seems like you're really on the fence here. Bottom line is if you like the car, take the discount they've offered and keep it. ANYTHING you buy new is going to depreciate faster than your discounted and used by YOU, E350.

That is a wonderful color combo - would be hard to find something much nicer. Did those cars have Keyless-Go? All of the ones I have seen do not, but they may just base models.

Polar Bear you are exactly right....the almost white leather with the metallic black paint looks great...the car also has the amg wheels and front/rear bumper...I don't believe it has keyless go (not really sure what it is but I know I have to use the key to turn the car on)
