2009 with 10k now.

2 oil changes (dumped the break-in oil early)

Rear tires don't hook too well anymore (with ESP on or off.) Cooler weather now doesn't help either. Will go with PS2s after a few more miles.

That's about it.

04 E500. Bought it late '08 with 75K on it. I am about to turn it over 105K. In one year the car has seen the California coast and the Atlantic coast. I had a few "issues", I knew had to be fixed when I bought it. Motor mounds (Had that done this summer), valve cover gaskets (had that done last week), heater valve (did that myself when I bought it). The unexpected was a worn-out ball joint on both a steering arm and the torque rod. I have done the little center speaker and the blower motor myself, that was easy. It is now absolutely 100% and a joy to drive.

I'm just curious, how much it cost to change the valve cover gaskets?

Miles on W211

2006 E320 CDI, 60K miles.
Needed new brakes at 40K
I had a squeaking AC/Heater fan that was replaced whilst still under warranty a year ago (at ~48K miles at a dealership)
At 54K and 56K miles I needed to change single glow plugs - cost me $30 for each plug and $40 for each installation (did not get this done at a dealership).
Have just replaced the aux battery (Walmart - Everstart Maxx AGM - ES14 - $65)
Am about to change tires - thinking of Bridgestone Potenza 960AS'
Dont want to jinx myself but its been good so far!

Just picked up an 05 E320 CDI myself. Loving it so far. Fingers crossed for an equally satisfying experience.

- 2004 E320 (stock) - bought brand new with 5 miles on it.
- 6 yrs later - 23K miles
"Issue"
- AC intermitantly stopped (twice)- fixed under warranty
- Active seat stopped working - fixed under warranty - dealer replaced pump
- Hand brake didn't release - fixed under warranty
2010 other driver ran red light totaled my car. I tested drive Lexus and other cars but nothing like a Mercedes.

-2010 bought 2007 E350 CPO with 38,500 miles.
- "Clicking" noise on belts. Dealer lubricated belt problem gone.

My wife was so happy that we replace an E320 with an E350. She loves that style. Especially, the head lights.

Leaky trans sensor, squeaky blower motor, rotors and pads, halogen headlamp, plus some other small trim item type stuff. All taken care of under warranty.

Pretty good car, I'm happy with it, and it gives me about 24 mpg in mixed driving.

Hello,
I have a 2005 E-320 CDI and I, too, am have water leaking into the trunk lid such that it dribbles/drips down into the trunk whenever I raise the lid.
How did you solve your problem?
As a matter of FYI, I live in the Pacific NW, near Portland, OR.

Look forward to your reply..............

Consider yourself lucky,, you could have had SBC failure,,Ball joints at 75,000 miles,, ignition switch, memory seats, lighter , air springs and many other items in the 2003.

I just think that it's the design of the trunk lid to drag the water down to the bumper, especially when I wash it, not actually a problem with the car itself.

Another Smiling CDI Driver

I jumped the gun when I posted earlier about the remedy for the water leaking into the trunk lid!!
After wadding thru all 140plus posts, I found the apparent solution. I went out and looked at the seal for that joint. Very sneaky!

Now for my contribution to this thread!!
*I live in the Pacific NW; Washington State; very near Portland, OR USA
*2005 E-320 CDI shopped for and purchased online;
*47k miles at purchase; CPO EXPIRED OCT 2009!!!
Issues:
*Engine computer died and replaced by warranty(I have photos of my CDI on the back of a flatbed tow truck).
*Auxiliary battery replaced Feb 10;
*Sunroof leaks when car parked on a horizontal surface-drips thru vanity light on passenger side OR that side of the center light module (my driveway is on a slight incline);
*trunk leak as stated;
*A/C blows hot air when it hangs up occasionally on start up;
*slight squeak from blower starting to be heard at start up;
*Keyless Go sensors at each door becoming more and more "iffy"- usually have to lean my pocket with the keys in it towards the door handle OR lift my leg for cargo pockets;
*driver seat memory acts as if there is a 2nd set of settings in its memory about 5% of the time;
*driver door open buzzer fails to alert once in a great while.
I LOVE THE TORQUE this car has - very responsive, very thrilling.
I LOVE THE FUEL MILEAGE - average 35plus MPG on the open road; more if I behave and drive like a well disciplined American!!!
I WORRY about all the other things I've read about on this forum that I have not experienced YET!!!
QUESTIONS:
*Has anyone had any good experiences with a 3rd party extended warranty company?
*Any where else (besides the dealer) to purchase an owner's/instruction manual CDROM at a reasonable price?
