Aux Battery replacement

Aux Battery replacement

I just attempted to replace the aux battery on my 2003 E500
Walmart could not find a Maxx 14-bs agm battery I called and went but ng
I used Vettdrvr s list and had my parts house cross reff and they gave me a Deka ETX-14 agm . Its the righrt size but the terminals are the wrong size. The batt wires have captive bolts and they are larger than the terminals on the Deka.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Any other sugestions?
BTY when I checked the terminals the ground was loose.
This seems to have fixed the warning message for now but the batt is original and it will go soon so I want to replace before getting stuck.

Basically it is a 12 ahr agm battery. Not that difficult. If you have the dimensions and location of +/- you can find one on the shelf without any other information. That is how I actually found the first one.

The list is good. Stick with one of the batteries on the list instead of playing around with something that may or (more likely) may not work

E500 Wagon 2005 & Porsche 996 2001

Used this site to locate a battery that worked. Ended up using a Sears Battery, and the entire replacement took 15 minutes. The dealer quoted $418 for parts and labor, I did it for $87.99 plus 15 mins of my time. Great forum, thanks for the help.

Battery is a Gold Die Hard Power Sport 14-BS. AGM technology. It might be made by Delphi, but I am not sure. Could be a re-brand. $87.99 plus $5 if you don't have a trade in. Supposed to be a perfect fit, from other forum members. 9 mo. Warranty.
