What do I think?
I think...NO, I KNOW that I made the right choice in choosing to purchase my E500.
I'm sure the new 5-Series will be a nice ride...but not much to look at.
It might give you the ride of your life, but in the morning you've got to look at it too!:p

It's an unusual color combination- Titanium Silver and beige. Certainly not recommended in the Benz brochure.
Can't say I like the rear boot deck much either.
Note the little reflectors in the lower rear bumper bar.

2003 SL Launch Edition, 2003 E500 Pewter/Stone
Well, the Honda came out first, so I guess we know who is copying whom, don't we? Ughhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Ditto, I am really glad I didn't wait for that, ride or no ride!!!! Are we sure that is not the 3 series? It looks short!!! Anyway, here is its twin from the rear, the 2003 Accord (I'll post the rear shot of the 5 next for easy comparison:

i like the sides...i always like BMW sides....
but the new 5 front and back is too UGLY...disastrous
yeah it looks small.....i think the old 5 is also small....almost the same size as 3-series except that its only WIDER
the length of ol5 and 3-series are almost same

Just noticed that BMW has gone back to no ventilation through the top rear of the bonnet (like the MB's of old- W124,etc) .
I wonder whether this will be changed for the M5 or maybe side vents like on the M3.

Hmmm...
3-series style wheels and a smoothed out version of the 7-series rear end. The front looks more appealing to me now, but that rear! I just can't get over it...
If BMW is making such bold styling statements via Bangle, then why are they smoothing away that rear end cut line? Could it be that customers are not impressed with the rear end styling??? :p
However, BMW still seems to be keeping the high beltline crease all the way around...
Bring on my E!

The car is much better looking than the 7-series. It is immediately identifiable as a BMW (can you say that about all benz's?) and is a decent evolution of the current 5-series. Whether people like/agree with it or not, BMW needed a change in their design direction, they were getting very, very tired looking. The high beltlined in your face BMW look is still alive and well.
Having said all that I'd choose the E, much more elegant IMO. Now BMW 5 vs. Lexus GS, 5 in a heartbeat. BMW's back in the game.

Wow forget the rear of the Honda Accord, today I was in town and saw a Kia Rio on the road.
I promise the back of the car looks almost IDENTICAL to the new 5 series.
Check it out!!

Sorry it's a small picture but if anyone can make it bigger and post it, or use another photo of the Kia Rio sedan you will clearly see what I mean.

New 5
After looking at the old set of spy photos for the 5 series I thought it was hideous. Now, these recent spy photos make the new 5 series more attractive to me. When the new 7-series first came out I thought it was a dog, but now it has just grown on me. I like the e-class, but now the new 5 series has my attention. hmmmmm should I wait for the new 5 or just get the e-class since my 528 lease is up in one month.
