Help before I buy an 07 or 08 211 E350

So sorry to do this. Sure everyone hates replying to these types of requests. I have been gone from MBWorld since March 08 (shame on me I know). Still driving the 96 E300 D with 194K now. We are going to purchase a CPO 211 E350 soon. Either an 07 or 08. Went to local dealers in San Jose and Belmont CA. Just curious if there are any issues I should look for? I know that is not an easy question to answer. Should I be concerned about the electronic brakes at all? My Indy. Mechanic said he is not a fan, but thought they switched from these brakes in the latter 211 models? BTW - 1.9% financing through Oct. for 36 months. Many thanks for your comments in advance.

BTW -
08's have about 20K miles with P1 Pkgs. $37K asking
07 with 33K with P1, P2, trunk closer, full leather, parktronic, $35K asking, active headlights.

07' E350 sport
Not sure if this helps but I just bought my leased 07 E350 for $27270.MB financial gave us $4800 off.The dealer I leased from said they couldn't touch that price for a comparable car on the lot. I'm pretty happy as I have had the car since new and know its history. The original lease buyout was like 37-38k.

There are no SBC brakes on '07's & later cars. My '07 has been to the shop once a year for yearly service only. It has been flawless! You'll love the car. Go get one.

Yo, Barry...don't get me wrong; I love my '07 too, but doesn't the '08 have an upgraded command?

2009 models get the updated COMAND.

Ive paid brand new 2009 E350 sport, MSRP of $57,085, P1 PKG with Brown Wood for $38085 before tax & fees....You should ask for the huge discount on your CPO...If the dealer give you only few thousand discount, just walk away and they will stop you and give you more and more...

Btw, Do a search for new 2009 E350 left overs as some dealers might have a few in their lot.

07 vs 08, there is no difference really except for the AMG sport package that was an option. Probably they have taken things out you won't notice. I'd go with the 07 especially since it has more options. Now if it was an 09, then you would have the upgraded COMAND interface. No SBC brakes on 07+ cars. Btw, you'll love the car.

Wow, congrats on the miles you got from your 300E. As taylor210 says, also look at the remaining 2009s. They're going for the price that's being asked for those used cars you're looking at.

That's a real good price taylor210. Did you get fleet discount with that price? My fleet discount with $4K incentive shows the price in the $38K range. I saw another poster on here get a 2009 for about the same price as fleet price where he said he got that price from haggling with the dealer.

The '09s got the next gen COMAND. 07 & 08 are the same.

Thanks to all of you for your input. I really appreciate it. I went back to the dealer yesterday and they still have the same 7 cars on the lot. The 07 asking has dropped 1K. We are going to continue shopping as they are having a hard time selling these cars it seems. I will keep an eye out for left over 09's too.

Can you buy a Mercedes extended warranty if you buy from a Non-Mercedes Dealer (car still has a way to go on original factory warranty)

By the way, my 02 E320 was totaled in collision, a girl turned left in front of me, she admitted fault.

I am pretty sure that you can purchase an extended warranty since your car is still under the original factory warranty. You might want to call MBUSA or contact a local Mercedes dealer.

Just got home from purchasing an 07 E350 with only 28k miles! She's got MB tex but she's a black on black beauty. We didn't op to extend the two years on the remaining and CPO warranty, way too expensive, can it purchased through MBUSA separately?

Yes but it will cost more than the MB. I would reco consider the MB extended warranty.

MBUSA doesn't sell to consumers directly. They sell only to Franchised Dealers.

Keep in mind everything is negotiable. I negotiated on my extended warranty when I bought my C-Class.

Congrats! Last month I purchased a similar model, a CPO 2007 E350 RWD with P2, black on black MB-TEx, 26K miles, 18 months left on original warranty; I bought the extended warranty for 4 years.

After having two cars with leather seats, I am glad this one has the MB-Tex. The dealer assured me it was leather, but if it's only the center strips on each seat, headrest fronts, and the shirred door panels, it's not worth it to me.

Dude, if I use this as the litmus test, I'll NEVER get a car!!!

What should I expect to pay for a 2009 CPO E350 4Matic Sport P2 with 17K miles on it, that is listed for $46K on the Dealer lot?

Correct me if incorrect. New E350 Base List $48000? + options 1, 2 & 3 will add more.

Well it's not new, it's 17K miles and CPO.

I'm just amazed that people were able to buy new 2009's for 38K!
I'm finding it hard to get 2008 non-CPO for that.

I agree, my local dealer won't budge on price and the 09 new is not discounted.

Same situation here -- not much bargaining room. And my dealer had no 2009 models in stock.

On the internet, people say whatever they want. they have no proof. In real world, there is much dìfferent story. Hit the road, pick the one you like it best, buy it, enjoy it...that's it.
