2004 E500 W211 Seat Heaters Blowing Fuses

2004 E500 W211 Seat Heaters Blowing Fuses
Anyone have any idea what causes this? My guess is one of the seat heaters is broken and shorting. So my next step would be unplug the heaters and check with an ohm meter? Thanks! Dave

Does it blow the fuse right away or intermittently?
I am not sure what you are looking for. It is either shorted to ground, shorted to itself, or the wiring going to it is shorted.
I would say unplug it and see ifteh fuse still pops, but these cares are soo damn smart it probably won't energize the circuit after you disconnect the wiring.
Maybe put an ohmmeter on it and then wiggle in the seat and see if it jumps around.
Or test from the element to ground and do the same thing.

Good write up, except that was for a broken connection.
Blowing fuses indicate a short not an open.
Fix may be similar just the wire is touching some metal and has not broken yet.
