Finally lowered my E500

I went to a local shop this weekend and lowered my car apprx. 1.5 inches. Could of gone lower but didn't want to ruin the style of the car. Did it via star comp. Now I want the front lip and rims soon

Should have added this to your original thread about lowering your car. I agree with kompressor21. More pictures.

I was under the impression that you COULDNT lower your car more than 1.5 inches via STAR method. Why do you say you could have gone lower?

Also...what are the drawbacks of using Star? I heard that it's just permanently lowering it to highway heights and that puts a lot of unnecessary stress on the struts that can cause them to go out earlier?

i would have gone the STARs route as well, but ordered Renntech ELM before finding a place that would do it where i live....I can go as low as 4inches, but have mine set at 2.25 front and 2.0 rears with the airmatic set at 2 on the console for a lil more lowering.

looks like about a 2 finger gap... if you are happy with it, thats all that matters. Me, i like a one finger gap between wheel well.

here are some pics of mine i took during lunch. Dirty do to snow..

Nice. I thought about lowering mine at a point, but don't wanna mess with the ride. Also I think my car sits lower than any stock 211 I've seen, seems the pre F.L AMG Sport Package seems to sit lower than the Face-Lifted one? Unless my shocks are busted. Also, I've noticed the E500 and E55 Airmatic cars sit a bit higher than the steel spring ones.

I noticed the same with mine. But my rear sat lower and the front looked like a much bigger gap. But def satisfied with the ride quality. I don't even feel a difference n

if you get rims, i would get 19s...i debated getting 20s, but too big and performance wouldn't be as good. i still have my oem 17s with new tires and will switch them out once my 19s wear out..

I'm stuck on 19s or 20s. I have 19s on my eclipse and I think they would look all on the Benz since it's a much bigger body

I would do 19s. 20s would look good, but wouldn't last long on these roads around here
