I have a mercedes benz w211 2008 model ex japan. apparently the car can play audio cd, dvd and vcd but cannot play an mp3.
Is there anything i can do to upgrade?

I have a 2005 W211 E240 with ECE Comand. I have 2 issues related to Comand.
First issue SERV is no longer working.
Second: MP3 CDs don't play correctly, some folders will work but most folders will skip. I downloaded SW 30/06 from Daimler website and installed the software successfully but nothing have changed.
I attempted the US version of the software but received Variant Error message when flashing.
Any possible solutions?

Needless to say the SERV button may have stopped working after I was playing around with the command trying to access engineering mode.

By the way I work at a Mercedes Dealership, if there is anything I can do from the Xentry I have access to that as well, however our dealership don't have the Telematic CD for the W211...
Note I did do an Initial Startup for the existing command and after that I noticed some features from the Command disappeared like the channel name no longer is displayed and the TA disappeared from the screen and now I have access to Satellite Radio channels which I didn't have before.

2005 SL55 DVD drive in COMAND unit (based on my reading this was an early version, that was then replaced by cheaper CD based head-pretty strange given trend for more capable drives, but ok) I have always been able to read DVDs and MP3 on these (though I will say the drive/software is a bit picky about file formats or media and burn quality)
Trying to update firmware based on other forum recommendation and ISO to support recent map upgrades.
Procedure to do update based on 1-3-8 key combination not working. Any suggestions as to other approaches to executing update welcome.

I am about to take possession of an 04 S500 somewhere next week. I have no reason to believe the POs have updated the maps which leaves me 3 questions.
1. I found the latest and greatest map update HERE. For the low price of $100 while others are at $250, I do wonder if it is copied or someone's resold copy. Any issues with buying from there? What risks?
2. IF I get that copy or any copy, it seems likely that I have to update COMAND as well. Word is that I will gain the ETA function in the update. HOWEVER, I will lose the ability to enter navigation on the move. I talked to DVDINMOTION but they don't work on an 04. I also read that there is a way the dealer can remove that "feature" so my passenger can enter data without having to pull over. Any truth to that? Anyone know if I can ONLY update the map data without the software update?
3. Best way to bluetooth to my own cell phone instead of the antiques they have? TIA

I have a 2006 SL65 AMG. I have been tring to update the Comand and the Nav. I do not have the navi disk for my car. If anyone can help that be greatful. I have burnered every iso i can find on here and nothing is working. I tried the 138 instructions. But it just kicks back can not read media. I am in the USA so those maps work help. Even just to get a disk for the Navi would be nice.

Cant seem to find a solution to my issue:
E500 4Matic 2005.
I updated the software to 46/06 to enable DVD and MP3 formats.
I cant seem to get past engineering mode to access the functions/ I used *,#,<. 1,4,7. 3,5,7. And finally 1,3,8 which asks me if I want to update the software. I updated the software and I get a message to update from 46/06. SO I updated it again.
Still cant get past engineering to access the Driver distraction mode.
Dont know if its pertinent, but I have the SAT button on my headunit.
Any suggestions?

This is for 2003-2006 models with command unit.might also work for 2007-2009 yr model

Use this CD to update the COMAND Head Unit to software version 46/06.
Unzip the archive and burn all of the files onto a regular CD-R disc, making sure that your software finalizes the disk when it's done. I use NERO, and on NERO it is listed under the "burn" tab on the verification screen just before the CD starts burning.
Once you have the CD, power up your COMAND unit, briefly hold down 1,3,8 at the same time, and the service screen should come up asking you to insert the CD. Insert the CD and the update will begin automatically. VERY IMPORTANT....DO NOT CHANGE SETTINGS OR TURN IGNITION ON OR OFF DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS.
Once the CD is done updating, it will eject the CD and the COMAND unit will restart itself. That's all there is to it.
My unit is a 2005 version, and I cannot attest to weather this will work in other versions, but I have read that it will work on all COMAND units.
If you do not have the Nav module, then this should still update your audio SW... but only if you have the COMAND Head Unit (the one with the large screen). If you have the smaller unit, I think it's called the Audio 50 (but don't quote me on that), then I don't think this will work for you.
Also, this IS NOT a map disc. This is simply the SW update for the COMAND system itself.
