Hi everyone and thanks for a very useful forum. I made the mistake of touching to many buttons which resulted in me having to upgrade my comand unit. The only software available was the us4006 version. The unit is working but I live in europe and have the US version. Please, if anyone has a eruopean version could you mail it to zutafisnik@hotmail.com. I have a mercedes E320 cdi year 2003 with the navunit in the trunk.
Ps the reason I wanted to upgrade my comand was to be able to play mp3 cd:s. Now I can't even enter the hidden settings ds

Hello,
I was looking into update my comand system on my 05 w211 and i followed your instructions to the letter, downloaded the files from http://kickass.to/mercedes-service-c...-t1115084.html and downloaded nero. ive used a memorex CD-R and burned at 16x which i think was the slowest. but when i go to insert the CD in my car. nothing happens. what am i doing wrong?!

Yeah, i hit 1,3,8 at the same time and it said, please insert service CD, so i did, and still nothing happened. if the files arnt broken, then id have to put the blame on the software im using to burn this to the disk. i know the benz can only read ISO 9660 format but i dont exactly know how to set NERO to burn in that format.

I haven't used Nero ever since Nero v6. The software became bloated so I can't really say anything but I never had this issue. I burn everything with ImgBurn and never had an issue. I don't even care for speed. I burn everything as fast as my recorder can write it.

Yeah... ive used imgburn and it only detects two of the 9 files in the package. what im trying to do is install the new 2014 navigation DVD in my car but i need to update my system first. But im running into problems every step of the way. when i try to burn the Navigation files onto a sony DVD-R disk, imgburn tells me that almost half of the ISO's are invalid or not properly formatted, yet everyone else that has downloaded these files has been able to get this to work.
I am very tech savvy but not with car tech or CD's i stopped using those things years ago.. man i wish i could just mount all of these to a USB and update it that way =\

Hold on. first you are talking about COMAND update now you're talking about navigation system update. You know the COMAND update is done by the single CD/DVD slot of your COMAND, the map DVD goes inside the navigation processor in the trunk (left hand side). If you stick your map DVD inside your COMAND of course nothing will happen

I made 4 coasters before I got one that did not have a write error. Then I started the update. Well, it stated the update and half way through the command unit said read error. No harm to the unit it just did not complete. I am going to send you a PM about it. Thanks.

I’m new to the E series forum and have a quick question for all you Techie's I have just purchased a owe owner 60,000 miler, well looked after E500 2003 plate. The only thing that lets the car down is the dated stereo / sat nav.
Question is can I buy a second-hand 2009 Year radio sat nav model DB088D as a direct replacement. I have been told I will also need to get the Code as they do not have it as from a scrapped car company.
Is this a possible GO or Stall.

There is a Chinese company that makes COMAND knock-offs that have a better looking GUI but the execution is a **** poor job. The radio tuner sucks and reception isn't good, the entire radio constantly freezes, etc.

You need to start your own thread man. You high jacked this mp3 enable thread with what you wanna do on your car and makes it hard to stay on track. It was my fault to even answer your question and lead you on.

I entered in engineer menu and i saw many malfuctions!!!
One was that failed to startup and initialize and (update software to solve).

My service told me that I have to change AGW (lockated in the boot).
I think may be if i try to update the software of head unit may solve the problem.
