E350/E550 Sports package fog light setup!!

E350/E550 Sports package fog light setup!!
My uncle who's looking at E550s is wondering what his options are for the sports package on the e350s/e550s...
The double fins/lines in the fog housing he doesn't like.. Can they be removed to look like the non sports package fogs?

He likes the non sports fog setup better.. Obviously the birds eye, the ac seats, grill, etc. he loves on the sports package and its a must have but what can he do for this?
Also what package is this since the one with the gills/lines is the sports package?:

Anyways.. can they be cut off? Can they be painted black? Has anyone else done anything to these.. I don't think they look bad, but he hates them.

On sylvania website is says 9006... but on my c300.. sylvania site which is lamp replacement guide, it said the fogs were 1 thing, but were actually not.
I was looking at the thread in the e55 section for my uncle called lighting. He wanted to replace the fogs with 68 smd led bulb..
Are the 03-06 fogs the same as 07-09?

When I contacted HIDExtra.com for a foglight upgrade, I related what the owner's manual said about the H1 being the bulb required. Michelle said she didn't think so, and asked me to check the bulb. I did...it's an H11, and the MB Owner's Manual was wrong. I apologize for passing along bad info.
