Bilsteins for 2008 E350 4matic w/ sports?

Does anyone know if they are HD's or sports shocks? I would like to keep the springs original just wondering which shocks would be appropriate...thanks!

They make sports for the 2008 E350? I would be very surprised if that were true.

They only make the HDs for my 2004 E320 and the car's suspensions are pretty much identical except the newer ones such as yours use low pressure gas shocks.

I'm not sure what your question is? You're asking which ones you should get?

When you go to bilsteins website they dont offer anything for a 4matic with sports suspension so I'm not sure if the car is lowered compared to a non-4matic with sports suspension.

Basically is there a difference in ride height between a E350 w/ sports pkg and a E350 4matic w/ sports pkg?

Bilstein B8 or B6 are sport or heavy duty and they are ok for your car, but if you have sport suspension you shoul consider B8's. They are recommended for use w/lowering springs.

Not sure if this question was fully answered, but I'm looking for some assistance too. I have a 2007 E350 4matic w/ sports suspension. I know on the Bilstein site and every where else that I have seen shows that they do sell shocks for a sport suspension, but they don't mention anything about the 4matic. Any idea which shocks would work on the 4matic? Please help.

I'd call Bilstein headquarters or customer service in your part of the world directly.

The public website, which distributors/dealers also use, is derived but is not identical to the in-house BOM or engineering database that you cannot gain direct access to. Therefore you need an in-house support or PM who can look the proper fitment if any up for you.

Thanks Grane,
I was thinking about doing that but didn't really see a customer service number or anything on their website. I'm located in NY, any idea who to call?

Go to

And hit the Contact number up top. When the page appears, there is an East Aftermarket number, 704 something. Start there. You may need your VIN.

Okay, I took Granes advice and called Bilstein directly and the person I spoke to seemed like he basically did the same search online that I would do and concluded that they don't make any shocks for the 4matic. I do find this a little hard to believe, but I don't want to purchase shocks and get stuck with them. I'm hoping anyone on this forum could tell me if they actually tried using the bilstein products and were successful.

Thanks for the help Grane.

When I bought shocks for my G a couple of years ago the web site at BUS was not in synch with their real product offerings in NA. They stated they wanted to fix that and maybe they have. If BUS state they don't make the correct fitment I would not try to jury rig it and would go elsewhere. Several Sponsors sell real MB parts at favorable prices. I would call them with your VIN.

Update

I spoke to a couple of people at Bilstein and they said that getting the sports shocks from them and trying to put them on a 4matic would definitely not work because it wouldn't match up properly. I ended up ordering the parts from bmwmercedesparts.com. They had a deal with free shipping over 500 dollars and I needed a couple of extra things anyway.

My next question is, what else would you guys recommend I do while I'm changing my shocks anyway? Ball joints, control arms, etc.? Anything worth changing now so that I don't need to do them in the future. I have 60k miles on the car.

I wouldn't worry about control arms unless they look really warn out/lots of play in them. Definitely do ball joints as the new/stiffer shocks will accelerate them wearing out. Also a good time to inspect/replace tie rod ends and/or brake components while you've got it all apart.
