No Luck, Apparently
My dealer keeps telling me that the E500 wagon will not be available in the US as a 4matic. Very disappointing, as I had hoped that would be my next car.

Your sales person is trying to get you to buy now. The E class will absolutely be available as a 4Matic but (maybe not) in 2004.

I dont recall if there was a 430 4matic there will be a 500 4matic.

Yeah that's just a marketing ploy - the E500 wagon is confirmed, as well as the 4Matic version. But other places of the world even got a W210 E55 AMG Wagon 4Matic, and may now get a E55K AMG Wagon 4Matic - the ultimate family cruiser with speed, space, and 4wd . For tons of money.

You're probably right about that. In any event I think I'll sit tight and see what happens. After the debacle with the nav system, maybe it makes sense to wait another year anyway.
