Aargh... Stupid Center Console butterfly Tabs!
Has anybody experienced the same problem as me? Those butterfly tab covers that release the center console arm rest are the flimsiest design. Three tiny/flimsy plastic hooks hold them to the mechanical release below. I broke the passenger side one a few months ago. Then ordered new ones. I've had the new ones on the car about a month now and was trying to get a piece of paper out of the center arm rest and "pop"! The passenger side butterfly tab flew off and got wedged between the seat and center console. After fishing around in there (yes, there's not enough space to fit your hand!) for a while, I finally retrieved the part and guess what... one of the 3 flimsy hooks broke off. So while it's working fine for now, that same part is due to break anyday soon! Aargh!!! What a horrible design.

Mine keeps breaking on the passenger side, so I have a spare driver's side. If anybody doesn't mind that their left and right side wood grains don't match perfectly, AND they broke their driver's side one, maybe we should start an exchange group. I have a spare driver's side (possible 2 soon) Burlwood, and always searching for the passenger side.

Best bet is to go in to the dealer and check your VIN for the correct parts kit.
Personally, I used rubber cement which has worked and held for the past 4 years.

huh, mine must have been pretty damn strong! lol They have been on since I bought my car in April. Only time they came off was when I got pissed and slammed my fist down, one popped off but, it just attached back up. They've been fince since... Reading this though, I might pop them off and super glue them back on.
