Battery Protection Conven. Functions Tempoarily Unavailable Messge???
Car is a 2003 E500 Sport. This error message has come on a few times. On one occasion the vehicle wouldn't start for 30 minutes. Any ideas what it is? Both batteries were replaced a little over a year ago.

I'm going to say that you only think both batteries were replaced....
Have your electrical system checked, something is either draining your new batteries or they are not being adequately charged.

I had this happen a few times when both batteries were only a year old. Convenience features message would go off after about 4 minutes of driving. Then one day the red battery warning--see shop message came on. The battery control module was replaced, and the problem hasn't reoccurred.

I've personally seen multiple battery control modules fail, but I also have reprogrammed many of them since a software update is available using the SDS.

I got this message one midday after I forgot to turn off my headlights in the morning. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the headlights were left on all day til my battery died late in the afternoon.

I`ll wake this tread up again.
My 2004 E320 Cdi had a waterleak in the drivers footwell, and start giving me alot of electrical error messages.
The car is now dried up, and the leak is fixed.
Most of the error messages is now gone, but there is still a couple. One of them is the "Battery protection conv functions is temp switched off." This comes after 30 seconds after start. Both batteries are rather new and fully loaded.
My indy garage think my Central gateway module is faulty. This because of the amount of error messages i had (SRS, Brakelamp, doorlock driver side, high frequent sound from the Comand audio, battery protection). I questioned if its not the Battery module, but he think thats ok.
So i guess my question is if some of you have any experions or advice in my case? Can the CGW cause all this eletrical failures?
