w211 e220 cdi
project (audio 20 aux input installion)

My 04 E220 CDI Classic has a standared audio 20 with cd changer (both read cd not mp3) and I want to upgrade my sound system to add Ipod
I searched a lot on this topic and I found that my glove box has the hole for aux but it is closed so I opened it (just push a small piece with me finger)
I searched about an aux input slot and did not find so I need your advice

1-what is the suitable cable AUX CABLE part #,
203 540 61 07

or
211 54 099 910

the glove box after insert the slot will look like this

before it was like this

so I need your advice

1-what is the suitable cable AUX CABLE part #,
2-how do I connect the aux cable into the radio because I searched in my car below the glovebox and in the both sides for a wire (I just find one port with two wires black and brown) or I must connect it direct to audio 20 port
3-I press the cdc button for 3 seconds and did not changed to aux INPUT ACTIVE

I am still waiting everybody advice for this complex story

Also I found these wires in the glove box but I think it is for the taxi adapter (my car was a taxi before)

.

I have no clue, but I am interested too. My Brother recently bought a 2003 with the same HU and I would like to add the AUX to it for him.

aux cable to audio20.

Dear Friend.

I solve this problem this way. I have W211 E200 CDI. model year is 2006. Facelift. And ı have audio20 radio/Cd systme on my car.

You can watch this video how they install aux cable to on Audi20 system. And also i can send some picture too for to see more details. You need only 1 aux cable and one person experience on soldering. And 3-5 dolars for soldering.

I did exactly same this solution on my car and now i listen music from my mp3 player, my phone or my tablet. All sound tom come from 3,5 sound out from my devices. You can listen music and also you can hear your phone calls frome speaker too.

Video on youtube:

Advices:
1- before soldering, should to pass your aux cable from a hole of your device back side. Othersel will be crushed between cover and divece. Any hole you can use.
2- If you dont know soldering then find somebody experience. Becasue of soldering points is very small and thinn. I found somebody and they did for me in 3 euro.
3- pictures show to you where you will soldering left and rigt channels on aux cable. But, cable also has a notrcable too. You can solder this notr side to any corner on big shiny metal. (you can see examples on small rectangular window which looking up in second pictures).
4- Before to soldering you have know left and right channel is wihc cable. Then you can soldering to correct point. If you dont have idea then you can connect every cable on your car without installation and you can try cables just to touch to this soldering points. When you sure then solder it.
5- Select a good quality aux cable. I mea resistance and thick. Becasue if you select weak cable then will destroy in shor time becasue of you will move. Then will be difficult to soldering again to same point. Do one time, and do good one. And fix cable to some where. Then when you pull up cable after installation then you dont stress soldering points.

Goodluck.
